Chiang Mai, Thailand |Take a food tour 😋Free travel 🚶🏼
It’s my first time in Chiang Mai but I only stayed for 2 days😅, so I planned a good trip along the Michelin-rated food route👍
Transportation tips: I took a domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and the one-way cost less than NT$400🥹. Chiang Mai city is neither big nor small. First, if you book an accommodation that provides free 🆓, it would be the best; second, rent a motorcycle, but remember to bring your international driver's license; third, take the local red taxi 🚗. I chose the fourth method. After I downloaded an app, I rented a bicycle for 24 hours for 50 baht. The first 30 minutes are free (more than that is charged separately). If you plan your route well, it only costs 50 baht a day. I rented it for 2 days for only 100 baht.
This time when I came to Chiang Mai Airport, the original bus seemed to have stopped running. I asked two people working at the airport and they both said that there was no more and asked me to take a taxi directly.
Must-see attractions: There are many temples in the ancient city, such as the Tha Pae Gate of the ancient city, the 13th-century Wat Chiang Man, Wat Pan Tao, Chiang Mai City Pillar, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, etc. If you want to go for a hipster or modern feel, you can go to the Nimman District and experience the slow pace of the city.
Recommended hotel: This time I stayed at a hotel called 3Lan Hotel in the ancient city. It is a clean B&B with quite large rooms. Less than NT$400 a night, about 10 minutes by car from the airport.
Must-try food: Most of the food I ate this time was awarded with Michelin awards, and I went to the night market in the evening to eat a lot. The first place I went to was Rote Yiam beef noodles, which was delicious and only 50 baht. The second one I went to was Kukai Nimman, which had 80 baht teppanyaki fried kway teow, but I personally thought it was pretty average 😅. I ordered half a piece from SP CHICKEN for 95 baht, which was also delicious😋.
Huen Muan Jai and Ginger Country Kitchen require multiple people to order set dishes, so I gave up 🤣. This time I happened to encounter Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market and went to the night market next to GO INN CHIANGMAI University. It was cheap and big, and I ate until I was very full 😅😂😍🥰
For afternoon tea, I chose FERN FOREST CAFE, which has a forest feel, so that I can relax and enjoy the journey ☺️
Shopping Guide: This time I only bought THANN, which is used by the Thai royal family and is also the designated maintenance product for Star 🌟 Airlines business class.
