Movie World, Gold Coast, Australia-Queueing in the park yourself is faster!
2025.01.30|Gold Coast Movie World: If your loneliness index is 8, go to the theme park by yourself!
I woke up early this morning and went to ESPL Coffee Brewers to have a cup of coffee to refresh myself. Then I went to the supermarket to buy a salad to bring to the theme park. After all, the food prices in theme parks are always unreasonably expensive, so it is more cost-effective to prepare it myself.
I bought the park tickets in advance from KKday. Although it would be more cost-effective to buy a pass, since I only planned to come once on this trip, I chose the single entry ticket. With the discount, it cost less than NT$1,700, which I think is reasonable.
This is my first time going to a large theme park alone!
In the past, I have only been to small amusement parks, but now that I am in the Gold Coast, I don’t know when I will be able to come again, so of course I want to queue up for all the facilities!
Advantages of coming alone: ✔ No need to coordinate with other people's schedules, you can play whatever you want!
✔ Single Rider queues are super fast, and you don’t have to wait too long for most facilities!
✔ No need to accommodate your friends who are afraid of excitement or dare not play!
The only drawback:
✘ No one helped me take photos, luckily I am thick-skinned, so I had to make things difficult for passers-by
✘ It was quite boring when queuing, so I could only choose the technological indifference mode hahahaha!
Today's facility performance:
▶ Flight of the Wicked Witch
It's also a roller coaster, but it's incredibly short. It's over before I even start to get scared...
▶ Batwing Space Hot (Single Rider)
A straight-up-and-down catapult facility with a good sense of speed. The most important thing is that you don't have to wait in line for a long time. It's worth the ticket price!
▶ Green Lantern Coaster
This is the most exciting roller coaster in the park. Unfortunately, there is no Single Rider team, so I waited for 30 minutes, but it was worth it overall.
▶ Roxy 4D Theater (The Wizard of Oz 4D Movie)
Uh... so boring, the pictures feel like they were shot 20-30 years ago, if you don't have enough time, you can skip it.
▶ Wild West Falls (Single Rider)
It's a bit like a small gold mine, and you'll be splashed with water all over your body, but luckily the Australian sun is so strong that it dries up quickly!
▶ DC Rivals HyperCoaster
The most exciting of the whole game! There are three types of queues:
1️⃣ General queue
2️⃣ Fast Track (paid fast pass)
3️⃣ Single Rider (time-saving first choice!)
This roller coaster also has a fourth reverse seat, which means sitting backwards from the beginning to the end, but this requires an extra fee, so there are fewer people queuing.
But… after waiting in line for half an hour, I suddenly heard a strange sound coming from the track, and then the staff announced: "Equipment maintenance, everyone please leave."
This… could it be that God is telling me not to play too exciting?
As a result, I missed the rides I wanted to play the most, and had no choice but to ride Batwing Space Hot and Wild West Falls again to make up for my regret.
After watching the parade, I was about to leave the park, but suddenly I saw that the DC Rivals HyperCoaster had reopened. Without saying a word, I turned back and queued up!
At this time, the girl next to me in line was a 12-year-old girl from Tasmania. She took the initiative to talk to me and asked, "Have you ever ridden this?"
I said, "No, this is my first time."
She said proudly, "This is my third time riding it today!" Then she began to enthusiastically introduce to me the fun of all the amusement parks on the Gold Coast, just like an ambassador for amusement park tourism!
She said her father dropped her off here in the morning, then took his family to another theme park and came back to pick her up in the evening.
"????"
This can't possibly happen in Taiwan! In Taiwan, parents might worry if their 12-year-old child takes the MRT home by himself after school, but this Australian girl went to a large theme park and had fun all day by herself. How awesome!
I couldn't help but say to her, "You are really independent! Although I came to the park alone, I am already 40 years old, and you are only 12 years old and so independent. You are a truly independent woman!"
She was very happy to hear that, and then continued to talk to me about her summer vacation schedule, where she lived, and what fun things to do in the Gold Coast. Finally, she wished me a good time before leaving.
The only regret this time is that I didn’t have the chance to play Superman Escape. But it doesn’t matter, life is like this anyway, we always have to leave some regrets, so that we have a reason to try again!
To summarize today's experience:
✔ It's actually super fun to play in the park alone!
✔ Single Rider is God!
✔ Australian children are really independent!
✔ DC Rivals HyperCoaster is worth the wait
Looking forward to the next trip to Brisbane, and my journey is coming to an end!
