Michelin-recommended Beef Noodles in Wan Nian Building
Hidden in the basement of Wan Nian Building in Ximending, this beef noodle shop has gained popularity due to its Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation. Visiting on a weekday afternoon means no waiting, though the dining area still attracts a good number of patrons.
This time, I ordered beef noodles, dumplings, and side dishes. The beef noodle soup is light and refreshing, with rare wide noodles that are chewy and springy. The overall flavor is neither too salty nor greasy. However, with a starting price of $200, the dish only includes four pieces of beef, which feels a bit pricey.
The dumplings are handmade, offering a wonderfully chewy texture. The filling is solid and satisfying, making them a delight to eat. The side dishes also performed well, making the overall dining experience quite enjoyable!
For first-time visitors, finding the location might take a bit of effort. The shop is tucked away in the corner of the basement floor of Wan Nian Building. While there are plenty of seats, expect to queue during peak hours!
