W Suzhou Landmark location📍 I headed straight to the W Hotel as soon as I arrived in Suzhou. It's so easy to find, right in the core area of the Suzhou Industrial Park's Huxi district, next to the beautiful Jinji Lake. After exiting the subway station and walking along, you can see the iconic building, like a fashionable landmark in Suzhou, it's especially eye-catching. It's surrounded by skyscrapers, with a strong commercial atmosphere, and all kinds of dining, drinking, and entertainment options. You don't have to worry about having nowhere to go for shopping, dining, or nightlife. Stunning exterior and lobby 👀 As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was blown away by its unique design. The entire lobby isn't as conventional as traditional hotels, but is full of modernity and artistry. The lighting design is particularly ingenious. The warm yellow light shines on you, making you feel warm and comfortable. There are also many art installations in the lobby, some like flowing water waves and some like fluttering ribbons, which are very creative. I couldn't help but take a lot of photos and post them on Moments. My friends all asked me which art gallery this was. Little surprises in the room 🎁 I stayed in a deluxe lake view room this time, and I was fascinated by the view outside the window as soon as I opened the door. For lunch and dinner, I tried the hotel's specialty restaurant and ate a lot of Suzhou's signature dishes, such as Squirrel Fish and Clear Soup Shark Fin, which tasted authentic. The waiters were also very nice and would recommend dishes according to your taste, making you feel very respected. Nightlife in the area 🌙 I took a stroll outside in the evening and discovered the vibrant nightlife around here. There are many bars and nightclubs near the hotel, which are very lively. I chose a bar with unique characteristics, ordered a cocktail, and sat there enjoying the night view of the lake, which felt very pleasant. If you like excitement, you can also go to the musical fountain by the lake, where there are crowds of people and a great atmosphere. Staying in hotels that shows the panoramic view has always given me profound experience that lead to some immense productivity 🥸. It takes me deep in thoughts, in that ever lasting landscape let you take a sight away from all the problems that are magnified in front of our 👀 face. Day 2️⃣ Attractions visited: Humble Administrator's Garden (p1-3), Suzhou Museum (p4-6), Pingjiang Road (p7), Pipa Yu Pingtan (Suzhou Ballad Singing) (p8), Jinji Lake (p9-12) Accommodation: W Suzhou Transportation: Metro Dining: Lunch on Pingjiang Road, dinner at Xinmeihua (Suzhou Center branch) Itinerary and timing: 1. Arrived at Humble Administrator's Garden by 9 AM for ticket check, toured for about 2 hours (entered through main gate, exited via south gate). 2. Suzhou Museum is adjacent to the garden, so we headed there directly after exiting the south gate (1-hour visit). 3. Took metro to Pingjiang Road after the museum - great for experiencing Jiangnan water town charm and having lunch. 4. Pingtan performance started at 14:30 (1-hour duration). 5. After the performance, bought local specialties on Guanqian Street before driving to the hotel for check-in. After settling luggage, visited Jinji Lake and Suzhou Center Mall. ⚠️ Notes: 1. Though March is low season, advance booking is still required for Suzhou Museum (1 week prior) and Humble Administrator's Garden (3 days prior). 2. Latest arrival time for the garden should be no later than 8:30 AM - long queues already formed when we exited. 3. Teacher Wu performs at Guanqian Street location - book tickets on Maoyan 1 week in advance (best seats are first three rows; private boxes have poor views). 4. Xinmeihua at Suzhou Center is extremely crowded - suggest getting queue number by 5 PM before visiting Jinji Lake or returning to hotel. Day 3️⃣ Attractions visited: Tiger Hill (p13-15), Xiyuan Temple (p16-17), Lingering Garden (p18) Transportation: DiDi Dining: Vegetarian noodles at Xiyuan Temple Itinerary and timing: 1. Arrived at Tiger Hill by 9 AM for ticket check (1.5-hour visit, entered through main gate, exited via north gate). 2. Took DiDi to Xiyuan Temple after Tiger Hill - recommend trying vegetarian noodles before exploring (1-hour visit). 3. Walked directly from Xiyuan Temple to Lingering Garden (1-hour visit). ⚠️ Notes: 1. Avoid buying unlicensed cat snacks from street vendors outside Xiyuan Temple. 2. For the temple's vegetarian noodles, purchase meal tickets first before queuing. 3. After Lingering Garden, walk right to the traffic light before hailing taxi - the garden's entrance road is narrow/congested with many people waiting for rides.

The blackberry foie gras turned into a sweet mist marshmallow, the steak sandwich was wrapped in a charred rock layer, and the tips of the teeth chiseled open the gold vein of Lao Liu in the hearts of netizens. 「Dessert」 creates a galaxy on a plate. When the blueberry velvet cake is cut open, you will see a flowing violet nebula, and the chocolate mousse is wrapped in a raspberry meteor shower. The lobby has a unique design style, and the circular washbasin mirrors and lighting in the restrooms are eye-catching, full of fashion and futuristic vibes. Room Experience I booked a basic twin room, and the receptionist kindly adjusted the room to a high floor on the 20th floor. Upon entering the room, there are two wardrobes with a mirror in between on the left, and the bathroom and shower room on the right. The bedroom is spacious, and the two large beds do not feel crowded. There is also a hanging chair and a small desk. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the bathrobe is made of soft and smooth fabric. Even the basic room type is equipped with a bathtub, with bath salts next to it. A major highlight of the room is the view from the window, which directly overlooks Suzhou Center and Jinji Lake. The minibar is hidden under the TV table, offering a variety of drinks and snacks, but all are chargeable. The hotel is close to both Suzhou Industrial Park Station and Suzhou Station, but since I was coming from Beijing, I could only arrive at Suzhou North Station. While I could have taken the subway to the hotel, I opted for a taxi, and it only took about half an hour (without traffic). As soon as I entered the hotel, the modern decor and various contrasting color designs immediately gave me that W feeling. Suzhou W Hotel Staycation Before the Mid-Autumn Festival, I took my family to the W Hotel near our home for a staycation. The rooftop infinity pool was way better than expected. It was a great way to relax and start a wonderful vacation~ Weekend Hotel - Suzhou W Hotel When I was looking at the map on the weekend, I told my wife that I had never been to Suzhou. My wife was incredulous. It's only 100 km away. It's not inconvenient to go there once, walk around, and spend the last weekend in August. We set off at 9 am on Saturday and arrived in time to have lunch at Songhelou on Pingjiang Road. After lunch, we walked around Pingjiang Road and then went to the hotel to check in. We stayed at the Suzhou W Hotel on the weekend. It's next to Jinji Lake and is part of the Suzhou Center shopping mall. The rooms at the W are great. The bathtub and sofa are right next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, and you can see Jinji Lake outside the window. Some people were riding jet skis and duck boats. The room's wash area and rest area are separated by a wall, so they don't interfere with each other. The hotel has a happy hour from 5 pm to 7:30 pm in the lobby. There's not a lot of food, but they do have soft drinks, red and white wine, and champagne. The ciabatta was really to my taste. The breakfast at the W was also good. The entrance has a round dining table, and the walk-in closet/bathroom layout is also very good. Only suite vouchers can upgrade to this room type. W does not have an executive lounge, but members can enjoy happy hour in a designated area of the lobby bar, with drinks and some snacks. The Chinese restaurant Su Yan on the 34th floor is also very good, with both a great view and excellent dishes. Overall, I think W is more comfortable to stay in than Niccolo, with less crowded public areas, a more suitable height for lake views, and complete facilities. However, the need to queue for breakfast due to the large number of rooms is a downside.
