Historic buildings
Because Van Gogh created a lot of works closely related to this small town during the years he lived in Arles, many buildings here have become attractions to commemorate the painter, and the Van Gogh Cafe is one of them. This is the location where Van Gogh's famous painting "Cafe at Night" was filmed, and it still retains the exact same appearance as the painting back then. Although it is still a cafe, because it is an attraction in itself, its consumption is not low. If you want to drink a cup of coffee here, you still have to have a sufficient budget to prepare.

South France|Passing by Van Gogh’s fire, the painting and the real Arles
"Passing by Van Gogh's fire
Yare in painting and reality"
It is famous around the world for Vincent van Gogh, the place where his inspiration blossomed. Here he created more than a hundred works, with the landscapes, streets and people of Arles the protagonists on his canvases.
However, the fiery soul is always difficult to rest at peace. Van Gogh cut off his ears, suffered a mental breakdown, and was eventually admitted to a sanatorium. In 1888, the lonely Van Gogh moved from the gloomy northern France to the warm and bright town of South Faial, which coincided with the warmth and art he pursued wholeheartedly. The sun shines here all year round and the wheat fields grow wildly.
❤️Van Gogh’s Cafe
The warm sunshine of Arles embraced Van Gogh, who created hundreds of paintings here. You may have seen the painting "Cafe at Night". The bright lights of a cafe in Arles are like brilliant orange blossoms in the dark blue night sky, full of human warmth.
The successful artist's cafe is in the exquisite and tight Paris, but the cafe where Van Gogh stopped is isolated in the countryside of Arles. Most of the works created by Van Gogh during this period have a warm undertone.

Roman ruins and Art
After two nights in Aix en Provence, my next destination was Arles. I hadn't read up or researched it. But during a conversation with someone at the hostel. It was pointed out that numerous famous artists including the likes of Vang Gogh and Picasso had taken residence in Arles at some point of time in their life. Infact, in the case of Van Gogh, it was even said to be his most productive time.
Having heard of such a thing. I was very curious about Arles now. In the past many years, I keep coming across someone working on their france itinerary and asking me if they should do Arles or Aix en Provence. Now that i have done both these places. I'd say both are worth, I mean if you can stretch two more nights. Do the other place too. No doubt Aix and Provence is the biggest but i thought in terms of sights, activities and things to do, Arles seemed to have a longer list. Anywho, worst case a day trip is what it definitely deserves.
I managed to visit most of the Roman ruins sights in Arles. You might wanna consider atleast the Roman amphitheater, the baths of Constantine, st trophime cloister, the Roman theater and the mediaeval graveyard. The Place de la Republique is the main square in Arles. Surrounding the square you’ll find many shops and cafes, as well as the Saint-Trophime church and the town hall. Lastly the van gogh cafe and and the foundation van gogh museum come recommended.

When Van Gogh and Arles
Van Gogh were 35 years old, they took a 16-hour train from Paris to Arles. Over a year, he created about two hundred oil paintings. He quietly painted in the sunshine of South France, olive trees, cypress trees, suspension bridges, sunflowers, wheat fields, farmers, women, cafes. For the unspeakable beauty of life, he used all his love.
