Uchiko Village, a quiet and emotional town near Matsuyama
#CanadaFlightEvent #JapanTravel #OverseasTravel #Matsuyama
Uchiko Village, which is only an hour away from Matsuyama, can be visited as a day trip. 🏠
There are no people and it is quiet, so it is a good place to rest comfortably.
There are places worth visiting, such as Kamahaga House, the History and Folklore Museum, and Goshoji, which are included in the Matsuyama Free Coupon.
If you have time left during your trip to Matsuyama, I recommend a day trip to the nearby area!

[Ehime] Little Kyoto of Iyo
A retro streetscape called Iyo Little Kyoto in Uchiko Town, Ehime Prefecture. ✨
It is home to the Uchikoza, a full-scale Kabuki theater built in 1916 to celebrate the accession of Emperor Taisho. ☺️
Unfortunately, most of the shops were closed on the day I visited, but it was a pleasant place to just stroll around. 😊
It was like going back in time and I felt relaxed. 🎵

Walking around Uchiko town. A nostalgic scene that makes you feel like you've slipped into time.
📍Uchiko Town
A nostalgic landscape spreads before you, as if you had traveled back in time.
Uchiko was a town that prospered from the late Edo period to the Taisho period through the production of wood wax.
The streets of Yokaichi and Gokoku still retain a strong trace of that time.
Traditional townhouses and wealthy merchants' mansions stand side by side along the 600m street, just as they were back then.
If you take a leisurely stroll, you'll notice the pale yellow earthen walls.
These walls are made from local soil. The contrast between the white plaster and the yellow ochre creates a unique, warm landscape. It shows different expressions depending on the time and season.

📍Karari Bridge
On the way to the roadside station Fresh Park Karari, about 1 km from Uchiko city center,
there is a bridge over a tributary of the Oda River called Karari Bridge.
It is a pedestrian-only suspension bridge, suspended by wires from an iron bridge.
The suspension bridge over the river is very picturesque,
and the view from the river when crossing the bridge is also nice.
There were hardly any people using it, so I enjoyed the view at my own pace.
On the way back, I bought some seasonal fruits at the roadside station Fresh Park Karari.
Pears (Shinyuki), mandarins (Beni Madonna), kiwis (red ones), persimmons (Fuyugaki)

A soba noodle shop designated as a tangible cultural property
📍Soba Restaurant Shimohagatei
Renovated from the former Shimohagatei,
this popular restaurant has a great atmosphere. When I went in just after 11am on a Sunday, there were still seats available, but it soon filled up.
It took a while for the food to be served,
but it was a lovely restaurant, with fresh flowers on the meal trays.
The gallery on the second floor was also worth seeing.
The building was built in the mid-Meiji period and is a registered tangible cultural property, so the building itself is worth seeing, and you can freely tour the second floor.
The soba itself is delicious, but the portions are also generous,
and the thoughtful touch of a flower being garnished with each bowl makes this a lovely restaurant.

"350-year-old cherry tree"
📍 Ishidatami East Weeping Cherry Blossom, Ehime Prefecture
A natural monument designated by Ehime Prefecture.
Ishidatami, where it is located, is a Ishidatami district with a nostalgic rural landscape.
The weeping cherry tree in the eastern district is 8m tall and over 350 years old.
Its branches stretch out about 15m from east to west, overwhelming the viewer.
A festival is held on Saturdays and Sundays when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
You can enjoy the beautiful weeping cherry blossoms while enjoying traditional local food under the eaves of a farmhouse.
By the way, the mountain road is narrow, so it may be difficult for large cars to get there.

[As you walk up the mountain path, a mysterious and spectacular spot suddenly appears]
📍Yuge Shrine, Ehime Prefecture
The traditional Yuge Shrine is said to have been founded in 1396.
There is a covered bridge called Taikobashi in the center of Yuge Pond that surrounds the shrine, and visitors cross the bridge to worship.
The parishioners continue their "daily worship faith,"
raising the flag every day,
praying for bountiful harvests and the safety of their families.
The entire grounds are said to be a scenic spot,
and the Taikobashi Bridge and the giant Shiiki trees that grow in the grounds give off a solemn atmosphere.
Encountered in Satoyama A beautiful appearance that leads to the grounds with a solemn atmosphere.
The Taikobashi Bridge, known as a covered bridge, is built over Yuge Pond that surrounds the shrine building.

Recommended accommodations for Matsuyama Uchiko travel
#New York Flight Ticket Event
I went to the small city of Uchiko from Matsuyama
Uchiko used to be a prosperous town with many old memories, and I stayed in a two-story house that was renovated from an old warehouse. There is a living room, a small garden, and a bathtub on the first floor, and a bedroom on the second floor
It was cold because it was an old house, but it was a cozy and warm place where I really enjoyed my stay
A two-story house costs 180,000 won per night, and it seems like 4 people can sleep comfortably
I recommend Uchiko Cocoro #It's the best #Uchiko accommodation

Wax Museum
ㅇ#New York flight event
This is the first time I learned that Japan is famous for wax!
It was written that they export a lot of wax and make a lot of money,
so I wondered if there were that many reasons to use wax?
But I was surprised to see that wax is in various things I use, from cosmetics to crayons, more than I thought. ㅎㅎ

Uchiko Museum of Commerce and Life
#New YorkFlightEvent
This is a place I visited with a free coupon for Koreans. It was a place where you can see Japan's past at the Uchiko Museum of Commerce and Lifestyle!
In between, dolls were decorated to look like real people, and it was a little creepy because they were so realistic. Hehe
There was even a recorded voice in the middle, and it was a place that surprised me at first.

Dessert shop Konoha
#NewYorkFlightEvent
A cute dessert shop on Uchiko Street!
The packaging was so good that it would be a good place to buy souvenirs.
There were cute cat interiors here and there, and the shop itself was cute and pretty, so it was nice to look around. ㅎㅎ

The deserted Uchiko Station
#New York Flight Ticket Event
I heard that many people use the walking pass to travel from Uchiko Station to Ozu Station to Shimonada Station, so I arrived at Uchiko Station.
There were really no people, so I thought that this was the charm of a small city!
It felt like I was in the countryside, haha
It was a neighborhood with a great atmosphere and Japanese buildings.

📍Mokuwax Museum Kamiyoga Residence
It's a branch of the largest wax manufacturer in Japan...but it was a top-notch mansion💰
If this is the case for a branch, what about the main house🥺
It also doubles as a wax factory, so you can learn about wax making🌳
It was nice to hear from the guide, but it seems he's off on Wednesdays💤
I recommend visiting Uchikoza and the History and Folklore Museum (Museum of Commerce and Life) with a three-museum combined ticket.

📍History and Folklore Museum (Museum of Commerce and Lifestyle)
Uchiko Town in Ehime Prefecture still retains its traditional streetscape.
It prospered through wood wax production, and is still known as a producer of Japanese candles.
At the museum, which uses talking dolls to recreate the life of the Taisho era, you can enter an old house and get a glimpse of how people lived in the past. 🤖
If you buy a joint ticket for the three museums, you can also enter Uchikoza Theater and the Wood Wax Museum Kamihaga Residence in the same town, so it is recommended to buy a joint ticket.

Matsuyama JR walking course
#Uchiko Yoneya#Garyusanso
If you buy a JR walking course ticket in Matsuyama, you can use the train to go back to Matsuyama via Upiko Iyo-Ozu Shimonada as much as you want for a day.
It costs 3,600 yen, but it's worth it.
If you go to Uchiko, there is a theater that still performs Kabuki performances from the Taisho period.
It's called Uchikoza. If you walk down slowly from Gosho,
There is a restaurant called 'Yoneya', which is called the number one local restaurant.
The menu selected by the restaurant owner's grandfather is Kaisendon for 1,700 yen.
It tastes clean.
There is a fork in the road between Garyusanso and Ozu Castle at Iyo-Ozu Station.
I went to Garyusanso because of the time.
It's good to stare blankly at the river, and the Japanese garden is so beautiful.
You can see the sunset at Shimonada Station, but I didn't have a good day, so
I just came back.
In these areas, most restaurants are closed on weekdays. There are many places, so
Prepare some snacks and go
I got takeout from a hamburger place called 'sliver back' across from Iyozu Station
I had a delicious meal at Shimonada Station
