[Mie/Ise] Do you know the official name of Ise Shrine?
#Travelwithme
"I went to Ise Grand Shrine and ate my way through Okage Yokocho!"
You often hear this, don't you?
Actually, the official name is "Jingu" without the "Ise" part.
And Jingu is a collection of 125 shrines
(Naiku/Geku, 14 branch shrines, 43 auxiliary shrines, 24 subordinate shrines, and 42 supervised shrines)
The most sacred and central of these is Naiku/Kotaijingu
(Oharaimachi & Okage Yokocho are also nearby and popular)
The shrine enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, the ancestor of the imperial family
Crossing the Uji Bridge, amidst the lush greenery, you will find a gravel-lined shrine As I walked along the approach, I was purified by the Isuzu River that came into view on my right.
The clear, pure water made me feel like my heart was purified.
Then, at the main shrine, I expressed my sincere gratitude for my daily life and for being able to visit here today.
"Visit Ise at least once in your lifetime."
Please visit at least once.

✯The shrine's official website explains everything about the shrine in an easy-to-understand way and is highly recommended!
