Postcard from Polignano, Italy
Polignano is a beautiful town on the eastern coast of southern Italy. Like any other destination in the region of Puglia it offers stunning views, delicious food and romantic vibes 🌅🍝💗
We fell in love with the blue waters even though the beaches are not sandy. Take a pair of plastic sandals with you and enjoy the beautiful sea! 🐟
Don't forget to try the fresh seafood and the octopus sandwich of Polignano 🥪
In the evening there is a very nice atmosphere for walks while you enjoy your ice cream..nice shops and restaurants are open for tourists in the summer nights ✨
A typical Italian summer destination!

Traveling in Southern Italy: POLIGNANO A MARE, a beautiful seaside resort
#Invincible Sea View #Overseas Travel
Enjoying the sea breeze, the endless blue color echoes the mood of vacation. In Polignano a Mare, a small seaside town in southern Italy, the clear turquoise water and the small houses built on the rocky caves create a very unique picture.
🔶Where is POLIGLIANO A MARE? 🔶
It is located at the heel of the boot in southeastern Italy, facing the endless Adriatic Sea. Polignano a Mare is a seaside town in the province of Bari, in the region of Puglia.
The blue sea and the clear wind. In summer, Polignano a Mare is crowded with tourists coming for beach vacations. Even with so many tourists, there is still a sense of space here. The houses along the coast are built on grottoes, which are the characteristic of this small town.
🔶Charming seawater tones🔶
Scogliera del Lungomare Modugno is the most classic photo location in Polignano a Mare. The turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea and the small houses built on the rocks form such a beautiful picture.
There are not many tourists in the morning, but it is a bit backlit. When we went there again in the afternoon, the scenery was completely different. The sea water was turquoise and clear, as if it was shining with dazzling light.
🔶Hometown of the famous singer DOMENICO MODUGNO🔶
Domenico Modugno, the lead singer of the famous Italian song Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu, was born here. A bronze statue of him (Monumento a Domenica Modugno) was erected in the square.
Tourists passing by can't help but hum a few lines of the song~Volare, oh oh, Cantare, oh oh oh oh. Nel blu dipinto di blu, Felice di stare lassù…..
If you like sunshine and beaches, the beach in Polignano a Mare is a good place to enjoy the summer. Although the beach is not very big, the water is clear and you can see the bottom. There is also a cave called Grotta Piana on the left side of the beach. The surrounding scenery is very unique.
The ancient city center here is also very unique. The white and pastel-colored small houses, as well as the unique shops in the alleys, have a very small town feel.
🔶Itinerary suggestions🔶
You can go there from Bari and visit it as a day trip.
The town is not big and you can walk around. If you don’t plan to sunbathe or relax on the beach in Polignano a Mare, you can arrange to visit the nearby fishing village Monopoli on the same day. The journey by train (Trenitalia) takes only 5 minutes.

Polignano a Mare in Southern Italy: Relax and enjoy delicious food at a seaside restaurant
#Unbeatable Seaview #Overseas Travel
At noon, I chose a restaurant by the sea to enjoy the sea breeze and escape the overly hot sun. The restaurant, Trattoria il Grottone, has sweeping views of the sea and the rows of small white houses of Polignano a Mare. It is 100% super beautiful scenery.
Of course you have to try seafood at the seaside in southern Italy. I ordered a dish of fresh sashimi Antipasto crudo di Frutti di mare and mussels. The sweet sashimi was full of the fresh taste of the sea, accompanied by the never-boring view of the Adriatic Sea. The environment was really intoxicating and the price was very affordable.

Three White Towns to Visit in Southern Italy
#Overseas Travel Strategy
The Puglia region in southern Italy is a hot topic among overseas travel influencers. In this region, the houses in the city are painted white to reflect the strong sunlight and lower the indoor temperature. Therefore, beautiful white towns are scattered throughout the area. Here are three towns that you should definitely visit! 📍Locorotondo Locorotondo is said to be the most beautiful city in Italy. It is close to Alberobello, a World Heritage Site, so it is recommended to visit both cities as a set. I visited in the summer, and the balconies were decorated with flowers, and the white walls lit by the midsummer sun were beautiful. It is a small town, so you can tour the entire town in 30 minutes! Address: Locorotondo Bari, Puglia, Italy. 📝 I recommend chartering a taxi and touring Locorotondo, Polignano Mare, and Alberobello all at once! You can easily visit them all in one day. 📍AlberobelloVia Monte San Gabriele, 31 Alberobello BA ItalyAlberobello, a World Heritage Site, is a cute town with triangular roofs in the Puglia region of Italy. There are many souvenir shops in the town, and a shop run by a Japanese woman named Yoko showed me the rooftop and inside the house. I recommend looking over the whole town from a high place, as the view is great. 📍Polignano a Mare🏠Address: Polignano a Mare, Italy 70044 Bari Emerald green beaches are a popular resort area, and the white houses standing on the steep cliffs are beautiful, making it a scenic spot. The beach is not sand, but stone, so it may be a little dangerous if you are barefoot! There are many souvenir shops and restaurants in the town, so walking around the town is also fun.

lama monachile in off season
Visiting Polignano a Mare out of season isa unique and enchanting experience
The small town, known for its stunning cliffs and crystal-clear waters, takes on a serene, almost magical quality when the summer crowds have dispersed. With fewer tourists, you can explore its charming old town at a more leisurely pace, stroll along its narrow streets lined with whitewashed buildings, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea without the usual hustle and bustle.

Italy's most spectacular cave restaurant
#OverseasTravelRecord
In Polignano a Mare, a city in the Puglia region, on the heel of Italy, there is a restaurant with a spectacular view that looks like something out of a movie. The restaurant is located in a cave overlooking the Adriatic Sea, created naturally by the erosion of waves. The pasta and seafood dishes were delicious. The background music was live violin music, which was romantic! The price is by no means cheap, but it is a place you should visit on special occasions such as honeymoons. 📍 Ristorante Grotta Palazzese Address: Via Narciso, 59, 70044 Polignano a Mare BA, Italy Period: May to November (varies depending on the year) Recommendation: The evening is recommended! You can enjoy the view from the magic hour sky at dusk to the night illumination. Note: Make sure to make a reservation Budget: Course only. From 30,000 yen per person

5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT PUGLIA 🌊☀️
The sunny region in southern Italy offers so much: lots of history, unspoiled nature, beautiful coastline and intense flavors 🍦So it‘s time for you to visit 😁 Here are our tips:
🗺️ Places to visit / Things to do
1. & 2. Polignano a Mare 🌊 This beach town is perfect to go for a swim!
3. Restaurant Grotta Palazzese 🍝 The location is incredibly beautiful but the reviews online are a nightmare (expensive and bad food quality) so better just swing by for a picture 📸
4. Cave of Poetry 🏖️ Unfortunately it‘s forbidden to swim there nowadays but it looks really nice!
5. & 6. Alberobello 🌸 Make sure to stay in a trulli house for the night and go for a walk early in the morning! Every corner looks so beautiful 😍
7. Torre de Sant Andrea 🏖️ Bring your bikini but be prepared for strong waves 🌊
8 .& 9. Monopoli 🌅 In our opinion this is the cutest place in Puglia. If you want to stay in one town during your trip, I would highly recommend this one. It‘s charming, has lots of restaurants and a beach 🏖️
10. Matera 💃 Not a part of Puglia but very close by so it would be a shame to skip it! It‘s one of the oldest cities in the world
Other places nearby:
-Locorotondo
-Ostruni
🏨 Where to stay
We made a road trip coming from the Amafi Coast and stayed in a cave hotel in Matera, followed by a trulli house in Alberobello and a farm house near the Cave of Poetry. If you only want to stay at one place during your trip, I would choose Monopoli 🤗
🚗 How to get there
You need a car to get to all of these places! There’s lots of parking though and roads are okay compared to other places in Italy 🙈
⏰ Best time to visit
We were there in July and it was definitely too hot! I would not do it again to be honest 😅 We only went out early in the morning and late in the evening and had to cool ourselves down all the time. Better go in Mai / June or September / October 🤗
🐶 Is Puglia dog friendly?
YES! Like everywhere in Italy most people adore dogs and you can bring them to most places 🤗
Let us know if you have more questions ✨

Polignano a Mare: A hidden gem in Puglia, Italy!
#EuropeTravel
When it comes to Italy, the cities of Rome, Florence, Milan, and Amalfi are famous, but there are many beautiful white-themed towns in Puglia, the heel of Italy! The most famous town in Puglia is Alberobello. However, my favorite is Polignano a Mare! It seems that almost no Japanese tourists come, so it's a hidden gem! The cave restaurant is very expensive, but the view is spectacular! It's a town that I would definitely recommend for honeymoons. 📍Polignano a Mare 🏠Address: Polignano a Mare, Italy 70044 Bari 🚢🚕Access: We traveled by ferry from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Bari.
