I visited Kotor Castle in Kotor, Montenegro. This place is a symbol of tourism in Kotor. The view of the lake and mountains from the castle is amazing, so although it's tough, be sure to climb up. It's a perfect spot for Instagram! The entrance fee is 15 euros, but if you climb from the back route of the castle, it's free. However, this route takes about 1.5 hours to climb the mountain and is quite tiring. If you like a challenging hike, the Old Kotor Fort Trail from Kotor old town up to the Old Fort is for you! It’s definitely not an easy hike with almost 600 m of elevation and many steps but the views on the way up and from the top are well worth it. When you reach the top the views over Kotor Bay and Kotor town are stunning. I recommend starting early in the morning before the ticket office opens 😉.
