The Tang Dynasty House is a product of Japan's Edo period under the country's lock-up policy. At that time, Japan was closed to the country, and only Chinese people were specially allowed to do business in Japan. Therefore, in order to cooperate with the policy of closing the country, the Edo government established this area in 1685 only for Chinese merchants to live. The area was completely destroyed by fire in 1784, and was abolished after the founding policy was established in 1859. In 1870, the Chinese established the current Chinatown in the adjacent area. Now protected by the Japanese government, the Tushen Hall, Guanyin Hall, Tianhou Hall, and the Hokkien Guild Hall built by Quanzhou people in Fujian in 1868 are permanently preserved as cultural treasures. When you come here, you will find that the temples and halls here are very close to the style of Fujian, which shows the origin of this place and China.

"Tangren Residence Ruins" where people who came to Nagasaki from China for trade lived until they returned home. The hall and nostalgic towns that leave a shadow of the past have a different atmosphere from other venues. Access to the Karato residence venue is 5 minutes on foot from the Shinchi Chinatown venue. Every year, Nagasaki hosts a special event for a Chinese new year celebration.
