1. Fall Foliage
1. Over 80% of the leaves in Shennongding and Tianyan Scenic Area have turned golden or red, making it the best time to visit. The vibrant fall colors are expected to last until early next month. About 50% of the leaves in Dajiu Lake have turned red, and the best time to visit is early next month.
2. The leaves in Shennong Altar, Guanmen Mountain, and Tiansheng Bridge are still green, and the best time to visit is from early next month to around the 20th.
2. Transportation
You can fly to Shennongjia Hongping Airport or take a high-speed train to Xingshan Station. After arriving, you can rent a car or take a shuttle bus to the scenic area.
3. Itinerary (self-driving)
Day 1: Arrive at Xingshan Station, rent a car, and drive to Muyu Town (about 1 hour). Stay overnight in Muyu Town.
Day 2: Head to Shennongding in the morning for a day trip. You will pass by Jinhou Ridge, Shennong Valley, Tianji Ridge, and Banbi Rock. Jinhou Ridge has a forest stream, giving a forest-like feeling. Shennong Valley and Tianji Ridge are alpine meadows, and you can often see a sea of clouds in the morning. The internet-famous tree is a great photo spot. Stay overnight in Pingqian Ancient Town.
Day 3: Visit Dajiu Lake in the morning to see the morning mist. Lakes 4 and 5 are the most beautiful, and there are cute sika deer in the deer park. Since it is a long journey, you need to set off early. Stay overnight in Hongping Town.
Day 4: Visit Tianyan Scenic Area and Hongping Gallery. The colorful leaves along the way in Tianyan Scenic Area are stunning, and the Rainbow Bridge is a great photo spot. You can also visit Hongping Airport if you are interested. Return to Muyu Town and stay overnight.
Day 5: Visit Shennong Altar, Guanmen Mountain, and Tiansheng Bridge. Shennong Altar has a giant Shennong statue, Guanmen Mountain has internet-famous beehives and Olympic pandas, and Tiansheng Bridge has caves and waterfalls, making it a great photo spot. Then you can return home.

Summer Retreat Paradise - Shennongjia
Finally visited the long-desired Shennongjia!! A three-day, two-night trip, I can only say, it was worth it! The ecological conservation is excellent, with clear waters everywhere, making it a great place to get close to nature and escape the heat! About Transportation
The scenic spots in Shennongjia are far apart, and you need to drive within the scenic area to visit, so we originally planned to rent a car for a self-driving trip. However, considering the fatigue of driving and unfamiliarity with the terrain, we eventually chose to hire a local car service.
