We had an awesome stay in Thistle Johor Bahru. An online hotel booking platform screwed up our room reservation. The room is spacious and very cozy, with a bathtub, and it faces a nice view of the sea, pool and one of the JDT's stadiums. Love the hotel swimming pool that is always packed with family enjoying the family time. Plenty of covered and multi storey parking facilities. Suitable for all levels of society including the disabled. Accommodation in Johor Bahru city center which is easy to reach due to its location. Nice hotel over at Johor Bahru’s isolated resort hotel. The place is still building up but everything is clean and big. The breakfast buffet is 9 out of 10 for me. I would stay here for every staycay in johor. Definitely need a transport in. The only downside is delivery orders are a little pricy due to distance.

I am that kind of traveller who loves to try so many hotels. but i dont know why Thistle JB and Pelangi Resort & Spa Langkawi always makes me loyal to them. this time i decided to take a two days trip to JB just to treat myself the famous porridge in the town. and enjoying myself at the Bazar Karat dancing and singing with the locals. Thistle is a good hotel to reside because of the location. and the service is still good as before eventhough they have so many rivals now.the pool is big and clean. the room is neat and tidy. will book this hotel again for sure

However spa and executive lounge are temporarily closed Cons - Had to queue for 2hrs to check-in due to the long weekends Avg. Price - $50 per night for seaview room Rating - 3/5 First getaway after the borders are open. Overall a good experience, the good food such as Lazy Monday and Ong Shun Seafood nearby but have to go early otherwise the wait will be long. It was my first time staying at Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru, and I was full of expectations. The hotel is located on Jalan Sungai Chat in Johor Bahru, which is a great location. It's close to the Woodlands Checkpoint and some famous restaurants, like drive-thru KFC and McDonald's. However, the journey from the airport to the hotel was a bit long, but still acceptable. 🚙🍔 My experience during this stay was a mix of joy and worry. The front desk staff were friendly, and the check-in process was quick. I stayed in a sea view room, which was spacious and bright, with a beautiful view. It was so relaxing to enjoy the sea view while resting. However, some facilities were a bit outdated. For example, the bed was too hard, making it difficult to sleep. Fortunately, the pillows were comfortable, which made up for it a bit. 🚪🏞️ The room's decor was a bit awkward, with some areas not renovated well. For example, the bathroom door and wardrobe had some minor flaws. The bathtub was nice for a soak, but the rubber plug had some issues, so the bath salts were wasted. The air conditioning was powerful, which was a relief in the hot weather. ❄️🛀 The hotel also has a public parking lot, but the parking spaces are a bit far, especially when the hotel is full. You might have to walk quite a distance to find a spot. But that's okay, as we spent most of our time outside, so it was manageable. As for the pool, we only stayed one night and didn't have a chance to try it, but it looked spacious. Maybe next time, I'll give it a try. 🚗🏊‍♂️ As for the restaurant, the exterior and view were nice, but the food options were limited, with mostly similar dishes. However, breakfast was decent, with local delicacies and Western options. The espresso from the coffee machine was a highlight. But the restaurant's restocking speed was a bit slow, and popular dishes ran out quickly, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. ☕🍳🍲 A few minor regrets: the hotel is a bit far from some major attractions and shopping centers, making it slightly inconvenient to get around. Nevertheless, the hotel's shuttle and car service made it a bit more convenient. The most unsatisfactory part was that the front desk asked us to check out and then check in again, even though we were staying for several nights. It was a bit strange. Some room facilities could be improved, but it's clear the hotel is gradually renovating. I hope they keep up the good work. 🚕🚦 In summary, my experience at Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru was a mixed bag, with both joys and sorrows. I hope to see more improvements next time. It was a night check-in for a 2days/1night stay at Thristle Hotel. We were well greeted by welcoming smiles at the entrance. The night shift Receptionist was friendly. She checked us in less than 2mins. The room with a King sized bed sat with well tucked and cleaned smelling sheets. Aircon was silent and gave us the cooling effect from the afternoon sunny day out. Most welcoming was the free coffee/tea facility and the clean shower and bathtub. The comfy bed made us sleep like not waking up till dawn. Breakfast (included) was continental and local favourites. The staff were friendly while they briskly clear the tables, set new set of utensils for the next guest. Chefs were quick to refill the breakfast buffet. Ready-made or freshly brewed coffee was available with preferred varieties of English Tea to pamper the soul. The banquet halls are hugh. There's a gym for the enthusiast. The family-fun pool was filled with shouts, laughter and happiness filled the air from children and family members wading in the pool. We did not patronise the pool cafe/bar as it was too early. But it could be wonderful to sit, sip and enjoy the music and the atmosphere there. Checking-out was a breeze. Our only regrets was our very short stay. This hotel is highly recommended to stay. We will certainly come again and stay in this hotel.

Room Type: Deluxe King Room with Sea View Room Number: 1128, 1129 Pros: - nice sea view - comfortable bed - separate bathtub and shower area - Huge pool (feels like a resort, with slide for children so very family friendly) - decent size gym - breakfast buffet had decent variety and taste (very value for money given cost of room) - staff were friendly and proactive Cons - Room shows serious signs of ageing. Even though could see that it was refurbished, things still look like they are falling apart - not sure if it’s just my room, but tv channels come and go. Sometimes it’s working and sometimes it’s not. Limited channels as well. - pillow was way too soft - My King size bed was actually two super single beds put together. - Only bath towels provided and it was very worn. No other towels provided. - Not really baby friendly as there hotel does not have baby shower tub. Thankfully room comes with a bath tub - sound insulation pretty bad. Could hear sounds from the corridor #freehotelstay

The best hotel in JB. Always stayed at thistle because of good environment and the staff very friendly especially Abg din. For breakfast i give 4 star because many food and the best is nasi lemak .

After few years, im back to Johor. This time I choose to stay at Thristle Johor Bharu. We choose to stay in family suite at Thristle for 3 days 2 night. Swimming pool ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My favourite about this hotel is the swimming pool area. They have 3 areas for adult with different depth and also for kids. However, we need to use stairs because the lift is under maintainence. It is not elderly friendly because even the stairs is too small. Room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Room is spacious and clean. We add extra bed for our kids. This room also have kitchen. They have stove, microwave and big fridge. However, furniture is a bit outdated. But its okay. Everything is well-functioning. Breakfast ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food is delicious but the space is a bit cramp. Need to be very careful especially when you come with kids. Not many varities of foods. Arrived at night. Check in procedures easy and fast. The room was perfect after long hours driving. Foods are many choices nearby. The staffs are noce and helping. The breakfast foods are delicious and varieties, my fav of course the coffee 😍 Tried the other facilities such as gym which everything worked and in good condition. Nice experience! Surely will come back 😎

WE WENT TO THIS SMALL AND COSY CAFE LOCATED NEAR OUR HOTEL IN JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA. ONCE WE ENTERED THE CAFE, WE WERE GREETED WITH SOFT AND SOOTHING MUSIC WITH BEAUTIFULLY MINIMALIST DECO. WE LOVE THE AMBIANCE OF THE SMALL CAFE. WHILE SITTING AT OUR TABLE, WE COULD SEE THE BAKERS PREPARING THE PASTRIES AND BREADS FROM THE GLASS WINDOW. WE SAT THERE FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS ENJOYING THE FRESHLY BREWED COFFEE ACCOMPANIED WITH THE DELICIOUS FLAKY AND BUTTERY CROISSANT WITH THE SOOTHING MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND. UPON RECOMMENDATION FROM ONE OF THE BAKERS, WE TRIED THE SALTED CARAMEL BREAD PUDDING WHICH WAS CREAMY AND RICH BUT NOT TOO SWEET WHICH WE TRULY ENJOYED. Great location at Johor Bahru. Centrally located in the city of JB and Iskandar Development Region. Just around 10 minutes from the Singapore Causeway. There are so many popular food stalls, restaurants and shopping malls. We are enjoy dinner at night at several viral restaurants and haunting for foods. The building looks fantastic at outside. However, some of the facilities looks quite old and not well maintain. The parking space quite confusing to the main lobby and far from the receptionist. Breakfast just okay, got variety of foods includes local and western. Room spacious but not really hygiene. Hotel should focus on their housekeeping. #staycation #mytripvlog
