Iceland boasts areas of natural beauty and historical significance
Iceland boasts areas of natural beauty and historical significance, offering many excellent walking options.
The entire national park is stunning. Here, you'll find a historic meeting place where Iceland's rules, laws, and parliament were established over the centuries. The Eurasian and North American tectonic plates run through the park, and a trail will guide you through this area. As you enjoy the scenery between these plates, stroll along the streams, and hope for no major earthquakes, it's a wonderful experience!
Thingvellir features an excellent visitor center that provides insights into the park's history and some famous visitors who have been there.
This trip is worth the time to drive and explore. The park is also included in many tours departing from Reykjavik.

Thingvellir National Park 🇮🇸
#nationalparks
I had an amazing time visiting Thingvellir National Park during my summer vacation in Iceland! 🇮🇸🏞️ Located about 45 minutes from Reykjavik, Thingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a stunning example of Iceland’s natural beauty and geological wonders. The entrance to the park is free, which makes exploring this incredible area even better.
Walking through the park, I was struck by the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The landscape is dotted with stunning fissures, including the impressive Silfra Fissure, known for its crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling.
Nearby, you can explore the historical Alþingi site, where Iceland’s first parliament was established in 930 AD, and the picturesque Öxarárfoss waterfall is definitely worth a visit. Thingvellir is a fantastic spot for hiking, photography, and soaking in Iceland’s unique natural and historical heritage.

Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir National Park is Iceland's first national park, about 40km from downtown Reykjavik. This was once the site of the Icelandic parliament, and is one of the oldest parliaments in the world. In the park, there are scenic walkways and viewing platforms built for the safety of tourists. As long as you follow the walkway, you can take in all the beautiful scenery in the park. The Parliament Cliff, the junction of the Eurasian and North American plates, the Law Rock, and the filming location of 'Game of Thrones' are all must-see spots when you come to Thingvellir National Park!

Thingvellir National Park in Iceland
Thingvellir National Park, located in the southwest of Iceland, about 50 kilometers from the center of Reykjavik, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland and one of the world's famous geological landscapes. This national park includes plains, narrow canyons, spectacular waterfalls, volcanic craters, hot springs, and lakes, among other natural landscapes. The most representative is the geological features, the park is crossed by the Almannagjá fault that separates two plates, which is also one of the centers of the continental split in Europe. In addition, there is an open-air parliament in the park, which is an important historical heritage of the country and a symbol of Iceland's independence. Visitors can engage in various outdoor activities in the park such as hiking, diving, fishing, camping, horse riding, and also visit some historical buildings and cultural heritage. The hot springs and lakes in the park are unique natural landscapes in Iceland, where you can appreciate the beauty and grandeur of the natural scenery. In summary, Thingvellir National Park in Iceland is a worthwhile tourist destination. It not only has unique natural landscapes but also has historical and cultural connotations. It is a beautiful and rich tourist destination.

Iceland "Crack in the Earth"
#Snowscape
A "crack in the earth" between the North American and Eurasian plates in the World Heritage Site "Thingvellir National Park." It is said that the crack was created when the two plates pulled each other from the opposite direction. You can walk between them.
Diving is also available depending on the tour.
I went in January, but you can dive even in the cold season when it's snowy.

After reading "Daydreamer", I feel that I have to put the trip to Iceland on the agenda. The world is changing rapidly. Who knows what will happen next time. So, this is probably a trip induced by a movie.
By borrowing the film critics, this movie is the most beautiful in the comedy film, the most beautiful in the landscape film, the most comedy in the landscape film, the soundtrack in the comedy film The most burning is the most exciting. Anyway, it was a magical movie that made people watch the blood and let us both buy an Icelandic ticket.

It's famous for its tectonic plates—the boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates can be seen clearly as they drift apart, creating rifts in the earth’s surface.
Beyond its geological beauty, Thingvellir holds a special place in Iceland’s history as the site of the world’s oldest parliament, the Althing, established in 930 AD. Wander through the park to see the stunning Almannagjá rift, crystal-clear Silfra Fissure, and the serene Thingvallavatn lake. Thingvellir National Park: A Unique Place! Quick Response from Trip.com Customer Service Made the Trip Even Better!
Thingvellir National Park is located on one of Iceland's Golden Circle tourist routes and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet here, allowing visitors to witness this geological wonder above sea level!
On this trip to Iceland, I specifically visited this national park to admire its natural scenery. As I walked through the park, I discovered many oddly shaped rocks and learned from the information boards that it is Iceland's oldest nature reserve. The park also features numerous lakes, with water flowing gently along the rivers—truly special!
One surprising discovery was the beautiful and eco-friendly restroom at the park's visitor center. The restroom has glass walls, offering a stunning view of the breathtaking scenery—truly the most beautiful restroom!
For this trip to Iceland, I booked all my hotels through Trip.com. Many hotels in Iceland are located in remote areas, making their exact locations somewhat uncertain. I am very grateful for Trip.com's customer service, which allowed me to contact them easily through online calls. Even when abroad, I could use their free hotline to reach them! Iceland's Iconic Golden Circle Tour
The Golden Circle is a popular tourist route in Iceland that includes three major attractions: Þingvellir National Park, the Strokkur Geysir, and the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall. This circular route is conveniently located near the capital city of Reykjavik, making it an easy trip for both self-drive adventures and local tours.
Þingvellir National Park holds a special place in Iceland's history as the site of the world's oldest parliament, founded in 930 AD and active until 1798. It's a testament to the country's rich historical tapestry and is highly regarded by Icelanders.
The park's geographical features are just as impressive as its history. Located at the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, the area is a hotbed of volcanic activity. The plates are drifting apart at a rate of two centimeters per year, allowing the park to continuously grow. Visitors are drawn to the unique opportunity to snorkel in the fissures, swimming in pollution-free glacial water while experiencing the literal divide between the continents of America and Europe.

beautiful national park with rich history. in the better weather one could spend the whole day trekking and exploring the beautiful natutural landscape.

Originally built to protect the parliamentary ruins, the Singularity National Park was established in 930 in Singhville and continued to operate until 1798. It was later expanded to protect the surrounding natural scenery.
It is just at sunset, and the reflection of the sunset can be clearly seen on the calm waters of Lake Singhwadra.
The snowy mountains in the distance are dyed in beautiful golden colors. The small houses by the lake are especially lovely. It must be very happy to live here. Every day there are mountains and rivers.
Single Livi National Park is located in the Great Rift Valley of Iceland. It is the boundary between the Eurasian Plate and the American Plate. It is amazing, next to the American Plate.
YIYI NOTES.
The ingvellir National Park was established in 1930. The park was held in 930 in the world's first parliament. It is a holy place for Icelanders and was recorded in World Heritage in 2004.
The rift in the park is the junction of the two major plates of Asia-Europe-North America; the bottom of the Silfra crack extends to the parliament lake, and the gap is filled with clear water. The sneak into the lake can explore the two major plates. The underwater world, the water temperature in summer is only 4 ° C, it should be a cool feeling. Students who like diving must go and experience it.
