#hotelreview Need an idea about where to stay for your next visit to Sabah Borneo? . Why not try to consider staying at one of the well established resort in Kota Kinabalu and located by the sea!! This Pacific Sutera Resort is located just a few minutes drive from BKI International Aiport and it is half way in between airport and Kota Kinabalu city centre. . Even this property is a bit dated exteriorly but it was just renovated recently and you will be surprise how modern the rooms look. To make it more interesting, all rooms here comes with a huge bathtub as well. . Another plus point about this resort is the view if you opt for Seaview rooms. Even the cost will be way expensive, I truly believe it will provide a very perfect view of the sea and you can watch sunset too. Golf course view is also nice with a lot of greeneries and access to the private beach is just a walk away. . It is now on my favorite hotel list in Kota Kinabalu. Highly recommended!!

One of the iconic hotels in Kota Kinabalu, Pacific Sutera Harbour. Come and see for yourself the good sunrise and sunset view. The hotels were comfortable and spacious. Price reasonable for its service. Breakfast food was good and delicious. Do spend ur evening at the Horizon Sky Bar for a good refreshing view of the blues skies, golf park and sun view. Located less than 15 minutes away by car, Magellan Sutera Resort is close to the city yet offers a serene and tranquil atmosphere that feels detached from reality. The lobby itself was impressive. With its high ceilings, slowly rotating ceiling fans, and an open view of the ocean, the healing process seemed to begin even while waiting to check in. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking lush green lawns and the sea. You could even hear the sound of waves while lying in bed. Staying in the room alone was a delight. The resort features multiple swimming pools, thoughtfully designed to cater to families and couples alike with separate spaces. Lying on a sunbed, doing nothing but gazing at the sky, was pure bliss. At sunset, I walked to the private beach. The sight of the ocean bathed in the colors of the setting sun and people taking photos in front of it made me think, "I'm so glad I came here." Dinner was at the resort's restaurant, offering a mix of local and international dishes that perfectly suited my taste. The unlimited breakfast was also excellent, with tropical fruits and local coffee leaving a lasting impression. What stood out the most was the staff's kindness. Relaxing by the Hotel Pool In the morning, we enjoyed a sumptuous buffet breakfast at the hotel before heading to the pool to unwind. The Pacific Sutera Hotel boasts multiple pools, including an Olympic-standard pool, a scenic pool, and a children's pool, catering to various needs of travelers. We played in the pool, basked in the sunshine, and felt the sea breeze, completely relaxing our bodies and minds. Strolling at the Yacht Marina After breakfast, we took a walk at the yacht marina located in Sutera Harbour, admiring the luxurious yachts docked at the port and feeling the sea breeze on our faces. Shopping at Centre Point Sabah Next, we visited Centre Point Sabah, a large shopping mall in the city center featuring numerous shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. We shopped, sampled local snacks, and picked out souvenirs for friends and family. Massage Experience at Relax Corner In the afternoon, we headed to Relax Corner in the city center for a massage experience. This popular local massage parlor offers full-body and foot massage services. We opted for a 1.5-hour full-body and foot massage, priced at approximately NT$939, offering great value for money. The skilled masseurs helped relax our muscles and rejuvenate our spirits. Sunset at Breeze Beach Club In the evening, we returned to Breeze Beach Club at the Pacific Sutera Hotel, a beachfront bar with excellent sea views and sunset spots. As the sun gradually set, the horizon turned golden, and the sea sparkled with shimmering waves—a breathtaking scene. We enjoyed dinner here, savoring fresh seafood and local specialties while sharing the magnificent natural beauty with travelers from around the world. Ocean View Suite at Pacific Sutera Hotel We stayed at the Pacific Sutera Hotel in Sutera Harbour, which features 500 rooms and suites with comprehensive facilities and top-notch service. Our room offered stunning views of the South China Sea or the golf course, providing a serene and refreshing ambiance. The hotel also houses several restaurants and bars, including Silk Garden, Café Boleh, Pool Bar, and Breeze Beach Club, catering to diverse tastes. Conclusion On our last day in Sabah, we chose to slow down and enjoy a leisurely vacation. From relaxing by the hotel pool to strolling at the yacht marina, experiencing massages at Relax Corner, and finally admiring the sunset at Breeze Beach Club, we truly felt the unique charm of Sabah. On the sixth day of our free travel to Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, we returned from Kinabalu National Park to Kota Kinabalu (KK City). This day was designed to be relaxing, allowing us to unwind after the challenge of climbing Mount Kinabalu and prepare for the next leg of our journey. Car Return and Grab Ride Experience The drive from Kinabalu Park back to Kota Kinabalu takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering scenic views that once again showcase the natural beauty of Sabah. Upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu, we first dropped off Mrs. Han and our luggage at the hotel before I headed to the airport to return the rental car. Although there were minor hiccups during the car return process, overall, the service provided by Keddy by Europcar was satisfactory. After returning the car, I used the Grab app to book a ride from the airport to the hotel. Grab is a popular ride-hailing service in Southeast Asia, known for its user-friendly interface, transparent pricing, and support for both cash and credit card payments. The ride from the airport to the hotel took only about 10 minutes and cost approximately RM5 (around NT$35), making it a very affordable option. Pacific Sutera Hotel Sea View Suite We stayed at the Pacific Sutera Hotel, a five-star hotel located on a man-made island. The hotel boasts facilities such as a golf course, marina, spa, and swimming pool. Our accommodation was a sea view suite, featuring a spacious and comfortable room with stunning views of the ocean, which instantly lifted our spirits. After checking in, we changed into swimwear and headed to the pool to relax. Playing in the pool and enjoying the sunshine and sea breeze quickly washed away our fatigue. Lying on a deck chair and gazing at the distant ocean felt like being in a vacation paradise. Cafe Boleh Asian Buffet Dinner For dinner, we chose to dine at Cafe Boleh in the hotel, which offers an Asian buffet. The restaurant features a wide variety of dishes, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Western cuisines, catering to all our taste preferences. The sunset view from the restaurant, with its orange-red glow reflecting on the sea and the distant islands and yachts adding to the scenery, made our dinner truly unforgettable. Conclusion The sixth day of our trip allowed us to relax and enjoy the beauty and cuisine of Kota Kinabalu after the challenge of Mount Kinabalu. We stayed at the Borneo Aloha Airport Hotel on the first night. It was a lifesaver for us, as we arrived in the early morning with a child. The hotel offers airport transfer service, which saved us the trouble of waiting for a taxi with our tired bodies and luggage. It was also convenient for my husband to meet us the next day. The hotel was average, but the front desk staff spoke Chinese, so communication was not a problem. The breakfast was average, but the airport transfer staff were very attentive. They helped us carry our luggage and held umbrellas for us when it rained, which was very heartwarming. We stayed at The Shore for the next two nights. We booked a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. It was spacious and felt like home. The landlord spoke Chinese and could communicate via WeChat, but they were a bit slow to respond after we checked in. The location was excellent. The central market was across the street, which was very convenient for buying and processing seafood. It was a 5-minute walk to Durian Street, the Filipino Market, and various food spots, allowing us to enjoy the local food feast. However, the elevator was very slow, the pool was a bit dirty, and our room on the 20th floor was a bit damp. We stayed at the Pacific Sutera Hotel for the last two nights. We stayed in a golf view room with a wide view. The Pacific Sutera Hotel and the Magellan Sutera Resort share facilities, and there is a shuttle bus between them. It is also easy to walk between them. Watching the sunset at the Sky Bar on the 12th floor of the Pacific Sutera Hotel was amazing. Guests over 18 can enter without ordering anything and just take photos. The snorkeling experience at the Magellan Sutera Resort's small beach was great. We saw small fish, sea urchins, and fish on the seaside boardwalk. The Magellan Sutera Resort's pool was fun, with slides, water basketball, and a standard swimming lane. The Pacific Sutera Hotel's pool had an inflatable slide. Although the beaches at both hotels were not large, they were enough for children to play. As for dining, there was a buffet on the 2nd floor of the Pacific Sutera Hotel, and guests could order food on the 1st floor. There was also food near the Magellan Sutera Resort's pool. The food we ordered at the Magellan Sutera Resort was good. However, we did not encounter any discrimination against Chinese people, as mentioned online. The staff were not very proactive, so we had to ask more questions. Overall, the hotels we stayed at during our New Year trip to Kota Kinabalu had their pros and cons, but they all gave us a unique experience. I was stay in #pacificsutera hotel and room was upgraded to suite room. Even though it’s not seaview room, however the suite upgrade was made my staycation perfectly smooth. Manage to enjoy the breakfast, it was good as well. For sure will stay at this nice place again
