Berner Münster

This is the tallest cathedral in Switzerland. Amazing view over the whole old town of bern. The building is very beautiful and has amazing stained glass windows. There is a fee to climb the stairs to view Bern and the surrounding region from the top of the building, and I have been told it is worth it.

One-day trip to the capital Bern
June 30th marks the thirteenth day of my trip to Europe, having finished visiting the Jungfrau, I took a train to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Today is Sunday, and many shops are closed for rest.
The name Bern comes from the German word for 'bear,' which is also the symbol of the city. There is a place by the river where several brown bears are kept. Bern is not only the political center but also a city full of historical charm and modern vitality. The Old Town of Bern is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the iconic Zytglogge clock tower and fountains from the Renaissance period. The Aare River meanders through the city, with its rapid waters surrounding the Old Town of Bern on three sides, forming a peninsula that is an ideal place for leisurely walks and enjoying the scenery.
The medieval cobblestone streets are bright, with connected arcades lining both sides, and ancient houses with red tiles and white walls complement each other, each with its own story-telling street heart column fountains. Its arcades, like our rider corridors, are especially suitable for shopping in summer and rainy days. The 16th-century clock tower and the Gothic cathedral, which began construction in 1421, give the Old Town of Bern an antique and medieval mystique.
