Aira force and Gowbarrow park are around 155km away from Manchester United, you can take the train to the penrith station then there is a bus from the station to the destination. It is near Ullswater with a parking facility and etc. Aira force is an 18th century design landscape once owned by the dukes of norfolk, now owned by the National trust. The main force falls 70 feet from below a stone. You can borrow the boots so you can walk along the water. I took the 45 minutes trail because time is limited, i follow a 3 days 2 night tour from rabbies. If you took Gowbarrow fell trail that is around 3 hour walk at beautiful landscape with fencing to prevent the animal coming out, you will be award a beautiful view.

It has become an icon for Ambleside and the Lakes as a whole, and thousands of visitors come every year to see it. Dating back to the 17th century, the influential Braithwaite family built Bridge House to access their lands on the other side of Stock Beck and also to store apples from their orchards, which surrounded Bridge House. Over the decades, the house has had many practical uses, including being used as a counting house for the mills of Rattle Ghyll, a tea-room, a weaving shop, a cobbler's, a chair maker's and, at one time, a home to a family of eight!

We stayed in Yha windermere hostel and it was worth it, Tip1. Buses comes after 1-2 hour, plan it before head and few days doesnt run as well. Tip2. Around 5 most places are closed, start early Tip3. If you are with elders or kids and doesnt have car than opt for lakeside taxis app and it was convenient or if alone you can get cycle from the station and keep your luggage around the area Tip4. Dont forget to visit gingermere for ginger bread, only they make it. Tip5. Must try sticky toffee pudding, we did at amberside. Tip6. You should try elderflower sparkling water, i personally liked it.

On a warm spring day, I embarked on a journey to Penrith, a small town in Cumbria, England, drawn by its rich history, magnificent natural scenery, and unique British charm. Departing from London, I opted for a bus ride to Penrith. Although the journey was long, the scenery along the way unfolded like a series of moving paintings, refreshing my mind. When I arrived in Penrith, it was already evening, and the afterglow of the setting sun cast a mystical and warm glow on the ancient buildings. After checking in to my B&B, I took a short rest and couldn't wait to hit the streets to experience the town's unique charm. Penrith's streets are lined with various small shops, cafes, and restaurants, each exuding a strong traditional British atmosphere. As I strolled along the cobblestone streets, I occasionally heard the distant church bells, as if traveling back in time to a distant era. The next morning, I woke up early and headed to Penrith Castle. Built in the 14th century, this castle was once the residence of the Duke of York. Although much of it is now in ruins, it still retains its former grandeur and solemnity. Standing on the castle ruins, overlooking the entire town, I couldn't help but marvel at the vicissitudes of history. Afterwards, I visited the Penrith Town Museum, which provides a detailed introduction to the town's history and culture, giving me a deeper understanding of Penrith. The museum also houses a collection of precious artifacts and artworks, which opened my eyes. In the afternoon, I drove to the Lake District National Park. Penrith is very close to the park, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the Lake District. The scenery in the Lake District National Park is breathtaking, with lakes, mountains, and forests intertwined, forming a series of captivating paintings. I strolled along the lakeside path, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the tranquility and harmony of nature. On my way back to Penrith, I passed by Castlerigg Stone Circle, a Neolithic historical site consisting of 48 stones. Thirty-eight of these stones form the outer circle, while the other 10 form a small rectangle within the circle. Although not as grand as Stonehenge in Salisbury, the mysterious stone circle is still awe-inspiring. In the evening, I returned to Penrith and enjoyed dinner at a traditional British restaurant. The restaurant was filled with rich aromas, and I savored authentic British cuisine, experiencing the unique charm of British culture. This trip to Penrith allowed me to deeply appreciate the town's rich history, culture, and beautiful natural scenery. Whether it was the ancient castle, the mysterious stone circle, the magnificent Lake District, or the traditional British restaurant, everything left a lasting impression on me. amazing week away with my girls in the north of england in the mighty lake district, an abolsolutely wonderful and fun packed time highlighting a trip round lake windermere by boat and a climb up the mighty mountain helvellyn followed by a ten mile walk around lake thirlmere in which we spotted some fighter jets then a stroll round stock ghyll waterfall. a great trip.

Had an absolutely wonderful week in Ambleside with the most gorgeous weather. Took a trip from Windermere train station up and got the bus to Ambleside and took on some lovely walks eg. stock ghyll waterfall, the mighty Helvellyn and a ten mile trip around Thirlmere lake in which we saw 7 fighter jets fly by!!!
