the Alamo: Exploring Texas’s Iconic Historic Site
#summerdestinations
The Alamo, located in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the most iconic historical sites in the United States. Originally a Spanish mission, it became the site of a pivotal battle during the Texas Revolution in 1836. The Battle of the Alamo was a 13-day siege where a small group of Texan defenders, including famous figures like James Bowie and Davy Crockett, fought against a much larger Mexican army. Though the battle ended in a loss for the Texans, it became a symbol of resistance and sacrifice, inspiring the rallying cry, "Remember the Alamo!"
