We have finally reached EBC, Everest Base Camp, the most iconic point among Nepal's many trekking routes, located at the foot of the world's highest peak. Although it's a pity that we can't see Mount Everest from this spot, being surrounded by majestic mountains still fills me with awe. This place is truly beautiful. Despite online claims that EBC is not very difficult, I, who usually lack exercise, believed such statements and didn't train much, resulting in exhaustion during the trek. Even so, we made it up here. Although my friend, who is an experienced mountaineer in Taiwan, suffered from altitude sickness, they still completed the challenge and successfully arrived. Walking on this path is a journey of personal growth. Only by personally making this trip can you feel the waves stirring in your heart. I strongly recommend coming in winter. Although it's cold, if you can endure it, you won't have to deal with crowds, allowing you to fully appreciate the moment. I am at EBC.

#gohiking We started very early and enjoyed every bits of the trail. the weather getting colder because we ascended to higher elevation. we get to see animals as yak, sheep, goat and dog. we were greeted by friendly village settlers and other hikers. Spotted Ama Dablam equally beautiful as Everest along the way. We slept at the village for a night and we rushed the next morning to witness the majestic and gigantic Mount Everest which stood at 8848metre from afar. We had a great view. Tengboche Monastery is located in Eastern Nepal, near the Everest trekking route. It is a Tantric Buddhist monastery that many visitors visit to pray before starting their journey to conquer Everest Base Camp. Buddhism entered the Khumbu Valley, where Tengboche Monastery is located, about 350 years ago. Ancient Tibetan manuscripts speak of a lama named Sangwa Dorje, who possessed great clairvoyance and spiritual knowledge. He predicted the appearance of a monastery near Tengboche Village – where he flew into a deep meditative state and left an imprint on a rock (you can see the imprint at the temple entrance). The spiritual master Ngawang Tenzin Norbu, the fifth reincarnation of Sangwa Dorje, founded the monastery in 1916. The main building of Tengboche Monastery is the Dohang – a two-story ceremonial hall with a giant statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Next are the statues of Manjushri (the Bodhisattva of wisdom) and Maitreya (the Bodhisattva who will be reborn among humans in the future and become a Buddha, and whose appearance will mark the beginning of the golden age). Another important relic of the monastery is the handwritten texts of Kanjur, the teachings of the Buddha, translated into classical Tibetan.

The base camp is the first stop on the journey to Mount Everest. Currently, there are two EBC points located in two different countries. The first is South Base Camp, the southern base camp with an altitude of 5,364m in Nepal The second is North Base Camp, the northern base camp with an altitude of 5,150m in Tibet, China EBC Nepal is more familiar to Vietnamese trekkers because the procedures are simple and information is easier to find than the remaining route Everest Base is 5,364m high, the first point that must be overcome for those who want to conquer Everest Next are the transit stations Camp I at 5,900m high, Camp II at 6,400m high, Camp III at 7,500m high, and Camp IV at 7,950m high The EBC trekking route usually lasts only 11 days, while to conquer Everest you need about 2 months Located at an altitude of 5,364m, the amount of oxygen surrounding the top of EBC is only one-third of that near sea level This is a difficulty for climbers because they do not have enough oxygen to breathe As we know, the human body has its limits and we cannot withstand altitudes above 6,000m Therefore, the journey to EBC will be more dangerous as you go higher Near the top, you will feel the air getting thinner If you are not a professional trekker, you will quickly reach your limit Moreover, you may face damage from frostbite At this altitude, your heart will require your body to work harder to be able to pump blood throughout the body

On the way to EBC, very close to Namche Bazaar, there is a Sherpa village (actually not that small) called Khumjung. It was already deep winter when we arrived here, and the village was almost only inhabited by the elderly and children. It is said that the young people have gone to work in Kathmandu, making this large village a bit less lively but more serene. Khumjung is at an altitude of 3,790 meters, which is not very high on this route, but there was already some snow at this time, and we happily had a snowball fight. However, the most famous thing here is the Yeti's skull, which is enshrined in the temple, but photography is not allowed. I am actually half skeptical, does the Yeti really exist? Haha, maybe I haven't immersed myself enough. I really like this village and look forward to staying here for a longer period next time.

We will reach Tengboche (3860m) which also have the largest monastery in Khumbu region after walking for 5 to 6 hours. Day 5 : Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche We will walk for 5 to 6 hours from Tengboche to reach Dingboche enjoying the panoramic views of the mountain such as Kangtega, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Kwangde, Tengboche, Lhotse and Nuptse on the way. We will finally reach at a cold and windy settlement in Dingboche to stay overnight. Day 6 : Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung We catch the track from Dingboche through Imja Khola valley to land raven by glacier moraines amidst towering formidable mountains. We walk leisurely as our schedule for today is only 3 – 4 hours trek. While walking through the valley, Lhotse towers on our left and Ama Dablam on our right. After Reaching Chikunga; we will be discussing our trip adventures and will stay overnight here. Day 7 : Rest Day in Chhukung and hike to chhukung Ri Our experts, as well as the trekking experts, don’t recommend you to move continuously to the higher areas so this day is separated for acclimatization. We will stroll around the Chhukung and will stay overnight here. Day 8 : Trek from Chhukung to Kongma La to Lobuche Our today’s journey of 6 to 7 hours will include the crossing of the highest as well as the strenous pass of our voyage which is named as Kongma La pass. We will descend from there slowly to reach Lobuche and will stay overnight here. Day 11 : Trek from Lobuche to Dzongla Today’s trek is shortest compared to the other days but it will not be less adventurous and full of thrill. We can observe the mountains like Ama Dablam and Kangtega Thamserku from the route of Taboche. Chola Lake is situated in the lap of Mt. Cholatse which is another finest scenario. We will reach Dzongla at 4830 meters after 3-4 hours of the walk where we will be staying overnight. Day 12 : Trek from Dzongla to ChoLa to Gokyo From Dzongla we will be moving along the Cho La pass at 5368 meters which are the second high pass we will be passing and descend to Thangnak at 4680 meters and the trail lead us to Ngozumpa Glacier the longest glacier in Nepal. We will be staying overnight at reaching Gokyo (4800m) after 7 to 8 hours of walk. Day 13 : Rest day in Gokyo - Gokyo Ri On this acclimatization day; we will be climbing Gokyo Ri for the finest views of Mount Everest after a walk of 3 to 4 hours. We will return back to Gokyo for the overnight stay. Day 14 : Trek from Gokyo to Renjo La and Marlung We will be starting our trek early in the morning and will be passing the high pass Renjo La at 5360 meters of altitude and will reach Marlung after a few descend to Marlung (4210 m) where we will stay overnight too after a journey of 7 to 8 hours. Day 15 : Trek from Marlung to Namche Bazzar On this particular day; we will be walking through the traditionally used route for trade by the Tibetans. We will then be reaching Namche Bazaar passing the hydropower on the highest altitude as well as some monasteries where we will stay overnight for today. Day 16 : Trek from Namche Bazzar to Lukla The descending steep trail will lead you through the suspension bridges in Dudh Koshi River and through the rhododendron and pine forest as well as observing the views of different snow covered peaks. We will walk through Sherpa villages with cultural Buddhist flags before reaching Lukla on the last day of our trek. We will stay overnight at Namche Bazaar today. Day 17 : Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla and transfer to your Hotel We will take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu for 40 minutes and will stay overnight at a hotel in Kahtmandu.
