Symbol of Undying Love - Temple of Leah
This temple located in the highland barangay of Cebu City was build as a symbol of undying love. The structure was owned by Teodorico Adarna, the grandfather of a Filipina actress Ellen Adarna. The structure is over-looking the city - a great view!
Temple of Leah is a 1 hour drive away from Cebu City.
The very detailed structure is worth a visit, if you're a fan of greek style architecture or mythology. It has a feel of Barcelona and greece at the same time. The fountain at the center is perfect for an instagram photo. The collections of vases, ceramics and antiques are vast. The statue of Leah at the temple is amazing. and not to missed the fact that you'll have a 180 degree view of the city.
Best time to go here is early morning.

Temple of Leah
Temple of Leah is one of the top cultural and historical sites worth adding to your itinerary in Cebu City. Many call the temple the “Taj Mahal” of Cebu because it is also a mausoleum for a great love that never ends, even after death. Teodorico Soriano Adarna had the Temple of Leah built for his late wife, Leah Albino-Adarna.
Located in the high mountains of Barangay Busay and 45 minutes drive from Cebu city, the Temple of Leah began construction in 2012. There are around 24 different chambers in the complex containing a library, art gallery, bar and museum, just to name a few. You will also see statues of lions, angels and gladiators as you explore. Lovely stone steps leads to the portico and you will find the 10-foot high statue of Leah near the lobby. The Temple also offers stunning views of Cebu City and surrounding areas below. It was a very pleasant trip and the cooler breeze also provided much relief.
We hired a driver and car for 2,500 pesos who took us here and also a few other popular tourists attractions in the area. You can also hire any taxis for that price in advance or even in the morning you decide it’s a good day to be sightseeing outdoors and they are always available in front of your hotel. This is the most convenient, comfortable and cheapest option compared to joining a tour because you can start at any time of the day, take your time and the exclusive driver will patiently wait for you from one attraction to another. You will need to pay for the entrance fees and parking but they are very cheap.

The Taj Mahal of Cebu
#2023travelwish
The Temple of Leah is the Philippine version of Taj Mahal. This temple is situated on top of the mountain. Toedorico Soriano Adarna had the Temple of Leah built for his late wife, Leah Albino-Adarna. The temple began construction in 2012. You will see statutes of lions and angels as you explore. In the lobby erected the brass 10 foot statue of Leah. The ambiance here is romantic maybe because it was made out of love.
And love will find the way to have that year 2023, my travel wish to South Korea and Japan.

Temple of Leah is one of the top itinerary in Cebu city. You will see statutes of lions, angels, and gladiators as you explore. This temple is a beautiful Roman inspired architectural shrine. I love to capture the view of the city in the balcony. This angle is one of my favorite here. The angel statues on the balcony really gives a Roman vibes. The spectacular view of the city from here is wonderful.
Wish to have a spectacular view too in South Korea and Japan on 2023. Wish me luck.

The Queen City of the South, Cebu City, is known for any tourist spots. One of the very famous one is Temple of Leah.
Nicknamed the “Taj Mahal of Cebu”, Temple of Leah is a humble Roman-style shrine built by Teodorico Soriano Adarna in honor of his late wife, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna. Complete with enthralling Doric columns and arches, it is a sanctuary symbolizing a husband’s undying love for his wife.
It is of the top cultural and historical sites worth adding to your itinerary in Cebu City. Many call the temple the “Taj Mahal” of Cebu because it is also a mausoleum for a great love that never ends, even after death.

Side trip to the Temple
Place looks amazing. Nice statues, temple pillars and an overlooking view. There are some collections of pottery and dolls on the lower floors and some unfinished areas in the back. Because of its location, the temple offers a breathtaking view of Cebu City, and inevitably gives visitors a feeling that they are abroad due to the Greek-inspired architecture.

Temple of Leah
In the Queen City of the South, a palace of Teodoro Adarna’s Queen Leah Villa Albino-Adarna was made and replicated with a big statue in the middle. After a few years of waiting, the Philippine version of Taj Mahal has finally opened to welcome visitors.
The temple has an art gallery, museum, and a library where all of the favorite things her wife owned are placed. At the top, there’s a spectacular view of the city and more exceptional scenery as you walk through the temple. In this Greek methodology-inspired 7-story mansion, there are gigantic lions lying on each side of the stairs that will guide you to the door step of another jaw-dropping view. You can see a grand staircase with angels made up of brass and the Queen of the Temple in a 10-ft statue with crown and flower.

The romantic story behind Tempe of Leah
Temple of Leah is located near Cebu City. Cebu City is quite a dangerous place especially for a solo traveler so it’s nice to escape it and visit beautiful places outside the city area.
Temple of Leah is a brand new tourist attraction since it was built just 10 years ago in 2012. The temple is located in the mountains and offers a spectacular view of Cebu City.
The Temple Of Leah is built in a Greek architectural style so it’s very unusual to see such place in the Philippines.
The story behind the Temple of Leah is very romantic, since Temple of Leah is dedicated to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna and ordered to be built by Teodorico Soriano Adarna as a gesture of his undying love for his wife that passed away. Teodorico Soriano Adarna loved his wife Leah Villa Albino-Adarna so much that when she passed away after 53 years together, he built the Temple of Leah for her to be remembered forever.
I guess going there as a solo tourist was a mistake because you really want someone to love when you visit a place with such story ❤️
🚗 Getting there - I recommend to order a tour or rent a private driver because no public transport goes there and it’s out of town.
Visit the Temple of Leah next time you’re in Cebu and enjoy 😊

Temple of Leah ❤️❤️❤️
This is the counter part of Cebu to India's Taj Mahal. Temple of Leah was built solely on year 2012 for Mrs. Leah Albino- Adarna from his husband Teodorico Soriano as a pure gesture of his love to her. How romantic. ❤️ They've been together for 53 years. (They are actually one of the richest family in Cebu, Philippines.)
A Roman empire era inspired tourist attraction in the heart of Cebu. Sitting at the top of the mountain over-looking the entire city.
From the statues scattered all over the venue, to the main building, to the floors, and each columns, everything screams Roman era.
Take a look at it. Visit Cebu.

Super instagrammable! People would think you've been abroad when you're only in Cebu. This is a very unique place worth visiting because you can't find anything similar in the country, not even close. Entrance is now P100
It only takes 15 minutes to get there and you can skip the dangerous motorcycles that overcharge you, instead ride the shuttle service of Go To Tops. You can find them in fb. Fixed rate for a van. Cheaper than taxi or motor.

Explore the Temple of Leah in Cebu
The Temple of Leah in Cebu offers a unique experience of stepping into a Greek temple setting! This stunning spot is a relatively new attraction, built by a wealthy Filipino businessman in memory of his beloved wife, Leah. It's not just about the wealth, but a testament to love. The temple is a popular destination for tourists and is likely the most visited spot in Cebu.
Visitors can enjoy live performances in the grand hall, which are quite enjoyable. My friend wore a long dress here, and it was perfect for the setting. It's a gathering place for influencers from around the world, so if you're looking to see some beautiful people, this is the place to be!

Exploring Temple of Leah and Nearby Cafes in Cebu
After returning from Bohol Island to Cebu, we embarked on a unique city walk. This post focuses on the Temple of Leah and nearby cafes. For specific addresses, please use Google Maps, as detailed information is not available on review sites like Xiaohongshu. Initially, we thought it was a Greek temple, but according to Google Maps, the Temple of Leah was built in 2012. Despite its name, it is not a temple in the traditional sense. It was constructed by a Filipino tycoon, Teodorico Soriano Adarna, in memory of his late wife, Leah Albino-Adarna, and is often referred to as the Taj Mahal of Cebu. The Temple of Leah is unique for its resemblance to famous ancient Greek architecture.
Transportation: We took a taxi from the old town, but due to the mountain roads, the driver was reluctant to use the meter and initially charged 1000 pesos. We negotiated it down to 700 pesos, which is still quite expensive for Cebu.
Special Tip: There are no taxis available for the return trip down the mountain. You can take a motorcycle for 50 pesos per person to a place called Housing Plaza, and then take a tricycle or taxi. We managed to fit three people on one motorcycle (safety first!).
Tickets: The entrance fee is 120 pesos for adults. There is a very cute golden retriever named Potato at the ticket booth.
The temple's plaza is not large, but its mountain location offers beautiful views combined with its architectural style, making it worth a visit. Unfortunately, due to renovations, only Leah's statue is visible, and other treasures are not on display.
Utopia: Located with Lasa restaurant, both require climbing a steep slope. The atmosphere is incredibly chill, with signature coffee priced at around 240 pesos, which is reasonable compared to domestic prices but equivalent to a five-star hotel in the Philippines. Regular lattes and iced Americanos cost 120-160 pesos, about 20 RMB. They also offer cocktails and pizza, with a great evening ambiance and music, especially when the lights come on, creating a paradise-like setting. The only downside is the presence of small insects, so be cautious.
Matana Cafe: Due to word limit, I can't elaborate, but it's highly recommended as the closest cafe to the temple. It has a great environment, connected to a barbecue restaurant, with delicious-looking food and many adorable cats and dogs.

Travel Diary: Philippines Adventure
Temple of Leah in Cebu City is a remarkable place. Located on a mountain, the temperature is cooler, providing a comfortable environment. The large plaza gives a European vibe, and you can overlook the city of Cebu below. The sound of lively English pop songs fills the air, and couples leisurely enjoy coffee on nearby benches. The gentle breeze makes everything feel vibrant, and holding a small shark helium balloon brings back childhood memories. The temple is grand and feels like the closest place to the sky, making it an ideal spot for photography and relaxation.
