The Penang International Dragon Boat Regatta 2023 has concluded at Teluk Bahang Dam on Dec 2-3 that set a whole new record consisting over 60 teams from 14 countries. Participants took part of 6 race categories with 3 main events(400m Straight Course, 400m relay and Tug of War) within these two days. With an annual event of PIDBR which attracts more visitors on global scale has eventually boost Penang’s tourism industry. The next event is expected to fall on 21 & 22 Dec 2024. Teluk Bahang Dam

Teluk Bahang Dam is the largest dam on Penang Island. The dam was built to provide an alternative source of water supply in this island. The dam located on the southern part of Teluk Bahang and isn’t far from Entopia Butterfly Farm. You can walk from Entopia and to go the highest point of this place, you have to climb up the stairs. From this point you can enjoy a scenic view of Penang Island with surrounded by green hills. So amazing !!! TELUK BAHANG DAM

located afew minutes drive from the fishermen village at Teluk Bahang. You can park your car at a car park just after Explore amusement park, and climb up a flight of stairs up to the dam. This dam will take you about an hour to explore. Nothing much to say, except a average view of a dam lake and a nice highland view of the sea. I see afew locals jogging, so I guess it must be a nice place to exercise.
