My Ultimate Weekend Getaway to Pattaya City in Spring
#springitinerary
Spring in Pattaya is magical—warm but not scorching, with fewer crowds than peak season. I recently escaped for a 3-day weekend of beach bliss, vibrant nightlife, and hidden gems. Here’s how I made the most of it!
📍 Destination: Pattaya, Thailand
Best Time to Visit (Spring): March–April (hot but less humid than summer)
✈️ Getting There
From Bangkok: 2-hour drive or bus (cheap & frequent departures from Ekkamai Station).
Private Transfer: ~1,500 THB for door-to-door comfort.
🌴 Day 1: Beaches, Temples & Sunset Views
☀️ Morning: Relaxing on Jomtien Beach
Why Jomtien? Less crowded than Pattaya Beach, with soft sand and clear(er) water.
Activity: Jet-skiing or parasailing (negotiate prices hard!).
Breakfast: The Sugar Hut Resort (tropical garden setting, amazing Thai omelets).
🛕 Midday: Sanctuary of Truth & Local Culture
Sanctuary of Truth (500 THB entry): A stunning all-wooden temple with intricate carvings—great for photos!
Lunch: Rimpa Lapin (clifftop restaurant with ocean views—try the seafood platter).
🌅 Afternoon: Pattaya Viewpoint & Floating Market
Khao Pattaya Viewpoint: Panoramic city & bay views (best before sunset).
Pattaya Floating Market (100 THB entry): Snacked on coconut ice cream and grilled squid while paddling through canals.
🌃 Evening: Walking Street & Nightlife
Dinner: Cabbages & Condoms (quirky, socially conscious spot with great Thai food).
Nightlife: Explored Walking Street (buzzing clubs, live music, and neon lights)—stopped at Harbor Pattaya for rooftop cocktails.
🏝️ Day 2: Island Hopping & Adventure
⛵ Morning: Koh Larn (Coral Island) Trip
Took the ferry (30 THB, 45 mins) or speedboat (1,500 THB private charter).
Best Beaches:
Tawaen Beach (lively, water sports, and beach bars).
Samae Beach (quieter, crystal-clear water for snorkeling).
Lunch: Fresh seafood at a beachfront shack.
🪂 Afternoon: Adventure Activities
Pattaya Cable Park (wakeboarding for beginners & pros).
OR Cartoon Network Amazone (if traveling with kids).
🍽️ Evening: The Glass House at Pratumnak Hill
Dinner with toes in the sand—romantic setting, Thai-Western fusion.
Nightcap: The Sky Gallery (another stunning cliffside bar).
🛍️ Day 3: Markets, Massages & Last-Minute Fun
🌞 Morning: Local Markets & Relaxation
Thepprasit Night Market (Weekend Only): Cheap clothes, street food, and souvenirs.
Massage: Health Land Spa (2-hour Thai massage for ~500 THB—bliss!).
🚤 Afternoon: Yacht Cruise or Underwater World
Option 1: Private yacht cruise (from Bali Hai Pier, ~3,000 THB pp).
Option 2: Underwater World Pattaya (great for families).
✈️ Late Afternoon: Return to Bangkok
Stopped at Terminal 21 Pattaya for last-minute shopping (think themed floors & cheap fashion).
