The long coastline, which extends for about 12 kilometres facing the Pacific Ocean, can be divided into four areas. The northernmost area is the "Bushima" area. As the name suggests, it used to be an island, but now it is a continuation of the land. It is known as a breeding ground for sea cats, and many sea cats usually fly in from March to August, and you can see them working hard to raise their children. At the top of Bushima, there is the "Bushima Shrine" that enshrines Benzaiten, who is worshipped as the god of business and fishing.

#japantrip Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery of one of northern Japan's famous coastlines. There are some homely cafes and restaurants nearby to partake in as well. The best part of this place is the beautiful coastline and clean lawns. Listening to the sound of waves and the voices of sea cats while feeling the sea breeze. For access, there are JR Hachinohe Line and buses, but they are infrequent, so I think the main way to get there is by car.

Very tranquil and beautiful coastline that's also a bit out of the way from Hachinohe Station. The train running from Hachinohe to Tanesashikaigan Station runs roughly once every 2 hours so plan your trip carefully! There's also a sightseeing bus called the Umineko that runs along the full coastline and costs 100 yen per ride. You can get the bus timetable at the information center near Tanesashikaigan Station.
