Fukui is famous not only for glasses but also for knife making. This is a facility where you can watch craftsmen making knives for free. There is a shop at the entrance, and next to it is a little scary because there is a knife art exhibition. The factory is large and there is also a museum where you can learn about knife making in Fukui. This is Takefu Knife Village, a lovely triangular building. You can purchase Echizen blades and tour the workshop. Here, works by Kazuo Kawasaki, a designer from Fukui Prefecture, are on display.
