Just returned from Switzerland, let me share some honest truths
I almost cried from being ripped off in Grindelwald... For sisters planning to visit Switzerland from May to August, I've compiled these real experiences overnight👇Hope to save as many of you as possible‼️
-
1. Swiss Chuchi century-old cheese fondue in Zurich: Order the half-cheese half-tomato pot! The all-cheese pot is so rich it'll make you question your life choices
2. Jungfrau public toilets cost 2 CHF! Instead, buy a 3.9 CHF croissant at the Interlaken OST station café and use their premium bathroom for free - totally worth it!
3. Sit on the RIGHT side of the train! On the Golden Pass route from Lucerne→Interlaken, the right windows capture waterfalls+blue lakes, while left windows only show rock faces. Don't ask how I know this😭
4. First Mountain go-karts stop selling tickets at 3pm! The official website saying 5pm is a lie! If you want to ride, go early
5. The most valuable transportation deals in Switzerland are the Half Fare Card+Day Pass! Jungfrau's original price of 210 CHF drops by 95 CHF with the card - saving enough for a Michelin meal!
6. Dream Hill isn't actually an official attraction! Navigate to the back lawn of Cabana Hotel, the light at 4pm is absolutely gorgeous
7. Beware of scammers in Zermatt souvenir shops! Fridge magnets cost 4.9 CHF in town but 12 CHF at the summit! If someone tries to force truffle sauce samples on you, hold your wallet tight and run
8. The hiking path at Lungern Lake is slippery as hell! Wear hiking boots! I cried wearing Converse on that rocky path
9. Use the red real-time version on SBB for checking trains! The default gray routes might be suspended

✨Overall, Switzerland is truly beautiful, but also truly expensive!
I hope you all avoid the scammers and take even more stunning photos than what you see online!! (Remember to wear non-slip shoes, seriously!)
