Ginkgo trees and century-old buildings in downtown Shanghai
🧚♀️A hidden gem for ginkgo viewing in downtown Shanghai, with century-old ginkgo trees and buildings. It's not crowded on weekends. 💯 Here's my city walk route and photo spots!‼️
.
👉My route:
🖼️Huayang Road Lane 20 (East entrance 7:00–21:00) - Suzhou River Walkway Huazheng Section - Campus ginkgo trees - Exit at Wanhangdu Road - Zhongshan Park Gate 2 - Century-old bus - Zhongshan Park maple and ginkgo trees
.
📷Photo spots:
⛲️Suzhou River Walkway Huazheng Section:
🏠Starting at "Simeng Garden," with an archway decorated with flowers and plants, next to Gezhi Building, and Yizhu Garden, a Jiangnan-style garden.
.
🎁Ginkgo trees:
1️⃣By the walkway:
🧡A 130-year-old ginkgo tree, 17 meters tall. It usually turns golden this time of year, but last week it was still half yellow and half green. It should be yellow this weekend.
.
2️⃣Liu San Building/Library:
💛A century-old ginkgo tree, already fully yellow, with a century-old building in the background. It's beautiful from every angle and perfect for portraits.
.
3️⃣Building 40 Siyuan Building:
💕A building with countless arched doors, with a ginkgo tree in front, almost fully yellow.
.
🍃Lawn & plane trees:
🍁Plane trees are everywhere on campus in autumn, with a spectacular one on the lawn, covered in fallen leaves.
.
🚌Wanhangdu Road:
📷Exit the campus to see the century-old Bus 20 stop, which goes directly to Zhongshan Park. There are many maple and ginkgo trees along the street.
.
🌄Zhongshan Park:
💕Ginkgo, maple, and dawn redwood trees are in season, with three "no leaf sweeping" spots in the park! They are the cherry blossom forest, the ginkgo forest at the hexagonal pavilion, and the slide in the children's play area at Gate 3.
