Hey everyone 👋😊🙏, today I'm sharing my amazing trip to Miyakojima, Japan! It's truly a hidden gem, breathtakingly beautiful 😍💗😀. Here's my experience and some super practical tips, so take notes 📝💡💩. 🏠 Accommodation I stayed at a seaside guesthouse. Waking up to stunning ocean views every morning was pure bliss 🥰😄😍. The owner was incredibly welcoming and gave us tons of recommendations for things to do 👍🙂🙌. 🍽 Food Exploration Seafood is a must 🦀😋🥝! Miyakojima's seafood is fresh and delicious. Sashimi, grilled... everything is amazing 😋🚫🥝. Don't miss out on the local specialties like sea grape rice. It has a unique taste, but it's addictive 😜😅😉. 🌊 Must-See Spots 👉 Maehama Beach This is Miyakojima's star beach 🌟💗😍! The sand is fine, white, and soft like snow, and the water is crystal clear, like a giant blue crystal 💎👈😀. Strolling, sunbathing, swimming... it's pure relaxation 😌💭😄. 👉 Higashi-hennazaki Cape Located on the easternmost point of the island, it offers unparalleled ocean views 🌊💗😍. Standing under the lighthouse, feeling the sea breeze, it's like the world has gone quiet 💕😄😕. 👉 Sunayama Beach The unique arched coral rock formations make it a perfect photo spot 📸💓📵. But be careful, the waves can be a bit strong 🌊😂💭. 👉 Maksan Point Observatory Overlooking Irabu Island and the ocean, the view is incredibly expansive 👀💗😍. Go in the evening for a stunning sunset 🌆💩😍. 👉 Toriike Pond A marvel formed by marine stalactites, it's truly magical 🤩💕😉. Kayaking during high tide and walking during low tide offer two unique experiences 😎💩😀. 🚗 Getting Around Renting a car is the most convenient way to get around 🚗🚧🚩, allowing you to explore at your own pace. The road signs are clear, so no worries about getting lost 😉🚀😄.

Miyakojima, located in the Miyako Islands of Okinawa Prefecture, is the largest and main island of the archipelago. It is approximately 2,000 km from Tokyo, 303 km from the main island of the Ryukyu Islands, 133 km from Ishigaki Island in the Yaeyama Islands, 380 km from Taipei, and 800 km from Shanghai. Miyakojima boasts numerous captivating tourist attractions. Here are some of the main recommended spots: Beaches - Yonaha Maehama Beach: Known as the "most beautiful beach in the Orient," this 7 km-long white sand beach contrasts beautifully with the crystal-clear "Miyako Blue" waters. It is one of Miyakojima's most popular spots, offering a variety of marine activities such as jet skiing.  - Sunayama Beach: A representative sightseeing spot on Miyakojima. Climb the high sand dune for a panoramic view of the cobalt blue sea and pristine white sand. The arched rock on the left side of the downslope, formed by uplifted coral reefs, is its symbol. The view of the sea from the tunnel is exceptional.  - 17END: Located at the end of Shimojishima Airport, it gets its name from the aircraft landing point at 170 degrees. At low tide, a snow-white beach appears, creating a charming landscape. It is a superb spot for sunset viewing in Miyakojima, where the surrounding scenery is painted red by the setting sun. Natural Landscapes - Higashi-hennazaki Cape: Selected as one of Japan's top 100 urban parks and a natural monument, this cape offers views of both the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The lighthouse at the tip of the cape is a great place for ocean viewing, and iron bulb lilies bloom in spring.  - Sawada no Hama: One of Japan's top 100 beaches. After the tsunami caused by the Yaeyama earthquake, many huge rocks were scattered here, creating a unique landscape. The calm beach stretches far into the distance, perfect for leisurely strolls and sunset viewing. - Toriike Pond: A mysterious spot on the way from Irabu Island to Shimojishima. These two connected ponds, also connected to the sea, are designated as a natural monument and an important cultural property. They exhibit various colors due to changes in tide level, water temperature, and salinity. Also known as the "Japanese Blue Hole," it is one of Japan's leading diving spots. Cultural and Architectural Sites - Miyako Shrine: With a long history and mystical legends, the shrine is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Here, you can learn about the local history and culture.  - Ikema Bridge: Connecting Miyakojima and Ikema Island, this 1,425m-long bridge stretches straight out, flanked by the emerald green sea. Driving or walking across the bridge is a delightful experience. The observation deck after crossing the bridge offers a view of Nishi-hennazaki Cape and Ogami Island.  Other - Shimoji Mangrove Forest: The largest mangrove ecosystem in Miyakojima, home to many precious plants and animals. It's a great place for nature photography. - Yabiji: Japan's largest coral reef, composed of over 100 species of coral. At low tide, some of the reefs emerge from the sea, resembling a "phantom continent." The underwater scenery is breathtaking, ideal for diving and underwater photography.

You can see the cobalt blue ocean beyond the rock tunnel! #getgoing2025 Sunayama Beach is a spot where you can enjoy the beautiful cobalt blue sea and arch rocks. Unfortunately, the arch rock is not allowed to enter for safety reasons. Please note that it is also not allowed to enter from the sea side. However, it is OK to take pictures in front of the fence! It's about 4 km from the city centre, so you can go right away when you think of it. There is a path from the parking lot to the beach, and you may be able to meet the gorgeously dancing butterfly "Ogomadara". Although it is not well known, Sunayama Beach is a private property.

#Okinawa Attractions The beautiful scenery of the blue sea and blue sky at Sunayama Beach is unforgettable. The beach stretches for kilometers, with fine golden sand sparkling in the sun. The clear blue water is warm and comfortable, perfect for swimming and surfing. The coastline is dotted with sand hills of various sizes, forming a unique landform. The vegetation around the beach is rich, with coconut trees and casuarina trees adding a tropical feel to the sand. In the evening, the gentle sea breeze is particularly comfortable and pleasant. There are few people here and it is quiet and peaceful. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax.

"Sunayama Beach" is said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Miyakojima 🏝️ Located on the north side of the island, it is a popular tourist destination and location spot with a soft sand mountain as its name suggests 📸 Once you pass through the jungle with lush tropical vegetation, you will be greeted by a stunning beach and another highlight of this place, a rock arch created by wave erosion! *Currently, entry is prohibited for safety reasons.
