In the Depths of the Alley: Secrets of Time
Day 1: A Century-old Chinese Mansion
In the early morning, we strolled to the Lou Kau Mansion located on Long Song Street. Built in the 19th century, this Chinese mansion attracts countless visitors with its elegant Lingnan architectural style. Upon entering, the ancient wooden carved windows and stone pillars come into view, with every detail revealing the former glory and wealth of the family. The exhibition hall displays traditional furniture and daily necessities, making one feel as if they have traveled back to that prosperous era. In the afternoon, we headed to Senado Square, where the Portuguese architectural complex and the neat wave-patterned stone pavement immerse one in an exotic atmosphere. The cafes here are also great places to relax, savoring a cup of coffee and quietly enjoying the passage of time.
Day 2: The Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
The next day, we first visited St. Lawrence's Church, a church with a gentle yellow tone that exudes a warm and elegant temperament. The serene atmosphere inside brings peace to the soul. We then moved to the Fortaleza do Monte, overlooking the entire city from the hilltop, where skyscrapers and historical sites intertwine to form a magnificent picture, perfectly blending history and modernity.
Two days of exploration not only allowed us to appreciate the cultural heritage of Macau but also to feel the unique charm of the city, bringing a wealth of experiences and emotions.
