Bangkok's Hindu Temple 🇹🇭
#timetotravel
This temple is I believe the most important and the oldest Hindu temple in Bangkok which is dedicated to the Goddess Mariamman- the diety of rain and fertility. The entire temple isn't that big but it attracts devoteed and curious tourists alike to see this very attractive and colorful temple. It was buily in 1879 by Vaithi Padayatchi, a Tamil Hindu immigrant. Visitors are required to dress appropriately.
Entrance is free of charge. Address: 2 Pan Rd, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500

Silom Hindu Temple
No need to go all the way to India, we can worship and pay homage to Goddess Uma Devi, the goddess of fertility and love, right in the heart of Bangkok like this at Wat Khaek Silom or Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi, a Hindu temple in Thailand. Here, there is beautiful architecture in the style of South Indian art, namely Dravidian architecture, and a mix between the Chola and Pala periods in India. There is also a belief for going to pray for blessings in love and asking for children. According to beliefs, Goddess Uma Devi is the wife of Lord Shiva and is a goddess who has great faith and stability in their love for each other. Therefore, if anyone wants to pray for a blessing in love, may this love be stable, sincere to each other, and may they find their true love. #Wat Khaek

Getting There - If you take the bus number 15 you can stop directly in front of the temple. Other wise you can of course take a taxi or the skytrain
Attractions - This temple is different compared to other temples in Thailand. It reminds me a lot of the temples in Singapure and Malaysia. The colors are very bright and the mix of purple red yellow and pink is amazing
Hotels - This is a very bus neighborhood and there are a lot of hotels in walking distance
Food & Restaurants - This is a hotspot for streetfood and local restaurants

Wat Khaek: A Sacred Sanctuary of Interwoven Colors
Located in Bangkok, Wat Khaek is a Mariamman Hindu temple renowned for its vibrant colors and intricate carvings, exuding a strong South Indian cultural vibe. From afar, the temple's spire is densely adorned with statues of deities, each with unique and lifelike forms, as if narrating ancient Indian myths.
Upon entering the temple, the floor is spotless like a mirror, and walking barefoot on it provides a pure connection to the earth. The interior is dimly lit, creating a solemn atmosphere, with walls covered in colorful murals that intricately depict legendary Hindu stories. The central statue of the goddess Mariamman is lavishly decorated, and devotees reverently offer garlands and incense, silently praying for peace and blessings.
Outside the temple, small vendors sell fresh flowers and Indian sweets, adding a sacred yet friendly ambiance. At dusk, the sunset casts a glow on the colorful temple walls, making it appear dreamlike. Wat Khaek is a sacred site in Bangkok rich with exotic charm, where I experienced the beauty of Hindu art and the power of faith, adding an unforgettable hue to my journey.

[Bangkok, Thailand] A beautiful Hindu temple
Hello, this is IAKO!
Here is what I would like to introduce to you today.
[Wat Phra Si Maha Uma Thewi] Also known as Wat Kaek
The exterior is overwhelmingly beautiful. This temple is beautiful down to the last detail.
This is the temple of the mother goddess of Ganesha, who is famous for having an elephant head.
It is a mysterious space like a power spot, with soothing songs playing.
If you buy flower offerings inside and pray to the god in the back, you will receive a red mark on your forehead.
You can experience the Hindu worldview in Bangkok, which you cannot experience in Japan.
Every time you offer flowers, you will receive a god card, so it is recommended that you collect them.
It is accessible on foot from BTS Saint Louis Station.
Please come and visit us to get some energy♪

Ke Cave Temple is a Hindu temple and is rare in Thailand. It is difficult to locate this cave temple with Wat Khaek and it is easier to locate with the Mariamman Temple. The reason is that the word Khaek is considered by more and more Indians to be offensive, so avoid using the word. The architectural style is still very gorgeous, especially in terms of color, which can obviously feel different from other Thai temples. You need to take off your shoes when you visit the temple, and you are not allowed to take pictures inside.
