Attractions around Shili Silver Beach: Coffee Pavilion in Qingquan Ancient Temple
I went to Shili Silver Beach for vacation. I watched the sea for a few days and walked a few miles on the beach. I felt so lazy that it seemed like there was nowhere I wanted to go! A friend suggested going to the nearby Qingquan Ancient Temple, but I thought there wasn’t anything interesting in those ancient temples, so I suggested it every day, but gave up every day.
One day, we walked to the end of the beach and turned back to the inner street to the bus stop to avoid the sun. Suddenly, we saw a bus to Qingquan Ancient Temple. A few of us looked at each other and got on the bus with our ping-pong rackets.
Qingquan Ancient Temple stands at an intersection. There is a bit of dust and construction going on around it, but the ancient temple is nowhere to be seen. I searched on Baidu Maps and found it was there! Walking up the slope from the entrance, you will see the ancient temple. It doesn’t look very impressive from the outside, but you will see its scale once you go inside. I checked the WeChat account and found that they organize a lot of activities, even the random merit incense oil can be paid by scanning the code 😅.
It is called an ancient temple, but it was built during the Qing Dynasty, so it is not that long ago. There are some new buildings at the back, and it seems to be out of tune. There is even a Temple of the God of Wealth. I don’t know whether it is a Buddhist temple or a Taoist temple, but there is nothing special to see just by walking around. There is the Temple of the Sixth Patriarch next to it, which serves as a tea room and a book bar. There are only a few tourists here and no one sits down. There is a coffee shop on the attic near the main hall.
The name of the coffee shop is Fu Ka, which is more popular. It was only opened in April this year. The pavilion is open, with no windows and no air conditioning, but it is cool and comfortable, and the place is large. There is a coffee bar in the middle, with a small number of Chinese pastries, of course, all vegetarian.
There was a guqin opposite the coffee bar. No one was playing it at the time, only the sound of chanting came from the main hall.
There is also a book bar in the venue. In addition to Buddhist scriptures, there are also some other books, which seems to be a floating book bar. There are pens and ink on the table next to it for people to use. My mobile phone was out of power just now, so I borrowed a charger and bought a drink. I charged the phone and the machine at the same time, and read a book and practiced calligraphy. Two or three hours passed before I knew it.
