It was a short weekend getaway to Lyon, France. We began our day with a visit to the Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière, perched atop a hill overlooking the city. The basilica's stunning architecture, with its mix of Gothic and Byzantine styles, took our breath away. We explored the interior, marveling at the beautiful mosaics and stained-glass windows, then climbed to the observation deck for a panoramic view of Lyon 😍😍😍 📍8 Place de Fourvière, 69005 Lyon, France 💰Free, but a small fee of €3 to access the observation deck We also wandered down to Vieux Lyon, the city’s charming old town. It felt like stepping back in time as we stumbled upon quaint boutiques and hidden courtyards 🙌🙌🙌 In the afternoon, we visited the Musée des Confluences, a fascinating science and anthropology museum located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. We explored the diverse exhibits, from dinosaur skeletons to cultural artifacts, and learned so much about the world’s natural and human history. We started our visit in the old town, Vieux Lyon, with its narrow, winding streets and Renaissance architecture. The entrance to the impressive Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière was free, and the views of the city from the top were absolutely stunning. ⛪️🌟 We spent some time exploring the Musée des Beaux-Arts, where the €8 entrance fee gave us access to a vast collection of art spanning from ancient times to the modern era. The museum itself, housed in a former abbey, was a marvel. 🎨 After soaking up some culture, we indulged in Lyon’s renowned cuisine at a traditional bouchon. Lyon Coliseum Built in 15 BC during the reign of Emperor Augustine, the adopted son of Julius Caesar, this theater is one of the oldest theaters in France. It has a large theater and a small theater. It can accommodate 10,700 people at its peak. It is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the sunshine. Great place. . Strategy tips: 1. The center of the old city is the Saint-Jean Cathedral built in the 12th century. A recommended walking route starts from the church and goes to St. Paul's Church on the north side. 2. There is a viewing platform on the south side of Notre Dame, which overlooks the scenery of Old Lyon. 3. Tickets: Free and open 4. Play time: 2-3 hours recommended 5. How to get there: Head east from the Roman Theater to the "Notre Dame de Fourvière". 6. Opening hours: 8:00-19:00 for the cathedral and 7:00-19:00 for the chapel.

#timetotravel The Basilica is located on the Fouvrière hill, overlooking Lyon and there are 3 ways to get there: 1) To take the tram from Vieux Lyon to Fourvière 2) Hike (~18 mins on foot) 3) By car (~4 mins) I took the 1st option going up and the 2nd option down. I would definitely recommend taking the tram because the tram itself is another attraction in lyon (much like the peak tram in HK). A French restaurant with high cost-effectiveness and great atmosphere! Located next to the ibis hotel, it is a big room with many tables and many customers. We arrived at around 7 and had to wait 15 to 20 minutes. Celebrating a birthday is first class, the waiter will turn off the lights and play the birthday song, and everyone will clap. I have listened to this more than 10 times during one meal. It felt like entering a big restaurant from the 80s. The food quality was good and the portions were large. If there were not many people, you didn't need to order too much.  I just happened to see the sunset when I went there. My recommendation is for you to walk in the neighborhood from the hotel. It is not in the downtown but there is a lot to discover: All the building near to it are classical and beautiful. It looks like the Prince view from his castle. It’s amazing to be able to see the river from your window and the pool is huge and heated. The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvire is a Catholic sub-temple in Lyon, France. Combining Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, I chose two non-gothic designs that were unusual at the time. With exquisite mosaics, superb window panes, and St. Joseph's basement, it gives me a powerful visual shock. Whether it's murals, glass, domes and columns, everything is intricately crafted. The Notre Dame de Fourviere actually contains two churches. The church is very gorgeous, and the church is very simple. Overlooking the Lyon peninsula on the top of the Riviera, the Rhone River and the Sane River meet here. It is a very good view point. It is recommended to climb up to overlook the charm of Lyon, the night is quite beautiful, the whole mountain There are lights, golden light and river water.
