We kept the itinerary simple and focused on good food and a bit of shopping, making it an easy and enjoyable experience for both of us. Our day started bright and early around 8 am with a trip to Gim Cheng Dim Sum. This place is a must-visit for authentic Malaysian-style dim sum. Everything is made fresh in the morning, and you can taste the difference! We savored a variety of steamed and fried dumplings, a delicious way to kick off our day. After a satisfying breakfast, we headed to Mid Valley Southkey mall. It's a great place for a leisurely stroll and some window shopping. We weren't looking for anything specific, just enjoying the atmosphere and browsing the various stores. It's a spacious mall, perfect for a comfortable walk. Lunchtime rolled around, and we were ready for a treat at Bao Jun Hotpot. This buffet-style hotpot restaurant offers a modern setting and a wide variety of ingredients. A bonus was the senior citizen discount, which my mom appreciated. We enjoyed a delicious and interactive meal, choosing our favorite ingredients and cooking them to our liking. Following lunch, we took a break at Beautea for some refreshing fruit tea and bubble tea. It was the perfect pick-me-up after our meal. We relaxed and chatted while enjoying our drinks, a sweet little pause in our day. We continued our shopping and walking at Mid Valley Southkey before making our way to JB City Square. Our stomachs were starting to rumble again, so we decided to have dinner at Canton-i Restaurant. They serve up delectable Cantonese delights. We ordered roasted duck noodles and some more dim sum – a perfect way to round out our culinary journey for the day. The best part of this trip was its simplicity. We weren't rushing around trying to cram too much into one day. We took our time, enjoyed each other's company, and savored the good food. By 8 pm, we were back at customs and crossing back into Singapore, tired but happy with our mini-adventure. Their opening hours are from 12 noon to 10pm everyday and you can reserve online for a table during weekends. It is a nice and small Italian restaurant in Johor Bahru and they are always packed! The servers are very friendly and you can get their recommendations. We like their pizza very much.

This Austin area is also quite big so you can also consider to stayover here for 1 night. If you are driving then is better to get a valet parking for a peace of mind. There are not much sheltered area here so when there is rain, then I will head into the spa for a retreat. There are many spas to choose from and they also have couple spa package too. Borneo Oasis Spa is a super good and reasonable price spa in Austin JB. You can also add on Chinese Cupping services as an add on too. It is easy to make appointments and they are also ok for walk in customers. It may get busy during weekend and spa appointment might be fully booked. You enter the Siam Oasia and you will get transported to Thailand because the place is decorated in Thailand style and their therapists are Thai nationality too. The fish is crispy and not soggy because they serve it separately from the soup. The soup itself is full of tasty ingredients like clams, tofu, and vegetables, making it really flavorful. I also noticed many people ordering their curry laksa, which looked really delicious. And if you're into rice dishes, their pork rib or pork chop rice is also quite good, with generous portions. The ambiance of the cafe was really inviting and comfortable. It had a cozy atmosphere with warm lighting. The decor was charming, with rustic wooden furniture. The seating arrangement was cozy, with both intimate tables for couples and larger tables for groups of friends or families. Overall, it felt like a welcoming place to relax and enjoy a meal. #hotelreview Hyatt Place is a newly opened hotel and it is located within Paradigm mall so it was very convenient. Check-in was fast and fuss-free and we managed to get our room immediately. The room is quite spacious & bright and there's a big sofa for the king room. The basic amenities were provided in the room. The staffs were all very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was okay with a spread of Western and Malay cuisine. The Nasi lemak was nice. Overall, we still had a pleasant experience and will come back if we want to do some shopping at Paradigm mall.
