A Calm Morning at Slow Bakes with Toast and Views
We had the chance to visit Slow Bakes in Yishun, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots for a laid-back meal. The café is nestled by Yishun Pond, offering a peaceful view of the water, making it the perfect place to unwind. We loved the calm, relaxed vibe, and it felt like an escape from the usual hustle of the city.
We started with their avocado toast, which is a real treat at just S$2.80. The avocado was fresh and creamy, spread generously over a slice of their deliciously soft bread. It's simple but so satisfying—definitely a great choice for a light breakfast or snack. We also tried the unsweetened peanut butter toast, which was a nice, rich alternative. The peanut butter had a natural, nutty flavor, and it paired perfectly with the bread. It’s perfect for when you're in the mood for something a little less sweet but still packed with flavor.
Aside from the toast, we couldn’t resist trying their freshly baked bread. They offer an impressive range, from coconut loaves to matcha mochi red bean buns, all made with wholesome ingredients. Each bite of bread was fresh and comforting, and it was clear they put a lot of care into their bakes.
The café is open every day from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, so we’re definitely planning to head back soon. Whether we’re craving a hearty breakfast set or just want to enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a cup of coffee, Slow Bakes has quickly become one of our go-to spots for both food and vibes.
