3 Days in Kanchanaburi
If you’re looking for a peaceful short trip that blends nature, culture, and a bit of local charm, Kanchanaburi is a lovely choice. This 3-day, 2-night itinerary offers a little bit of everything — scenic landscapes, quiet temples, rich history, and some beautiful gemstone shopping to end it all.
Day 1
Start the journey with a visit to the Kanchanaburi Stone Garden — a fascinating place filled with uniquely shaped natural rock formations. It’s quiet, beautiful, and a perfect spot for photography or simply walking around and taking in nature.
Next, visit Wat Wang Jan, a small, peaceful temple that’s perfect for quiet reflection.
From there, head to Wat Pa Lelai, surrounded by trees and a calm atmosphere. It’s great for those who want to take a break from city life and reconnect with their inner peace.
In the evening, check in at Mida Resort Kanchanaburi, nestled along the River Kwai. The resort is peaceful and green — perfect for relaxing, kayaking, or just enjoying the riverside view.
Day 2
After breakfast, head into the town center and visit the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai. Even if you’ve seen photos before, being there in person gives you a real sense of history. The morning light also makes for great photos.
Next stop is the Kanchanaburi Gemstone Market, where you can browse through a variety of gemstones and jewelry. Whether you’re looking for something elegant or a small keepsake, there’s something for every taste.
Later in the day, check in to a hotel in the city, enjoy local food, and maybe unwind at a cozy café nearby.
In the afternoon, we wanted to visit the Skywalk Kanchanaburi. We got there right before closing time — not too late — but were told it was already closed to the public. Strangely though, we noticed that they still let some of their family members in while asking the rest of us to stay outside. It felt a little unfair and honestly took away from the experience. We were looking forward to it, so the whole thing was a bit disappointing.
Day 3
Take it slow on your last day. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, maybe visit a local café, or take a final walk by the river before heading home.#couplestrip
