This resort hotel in Chengdu is amazing!
❤Recommended reasons:
Six Senses is located at the foot of Mount Qingcheng, very close to the Qianshan Scenic Area. It features Chinese architecture and Taoist culture, emphasizing closeness to nature and health preservation, which is completely different from traditional luxury hotels that focus on urban landscapes. The layout of the entire hotel park is well-arranged, with lush greenery and clear functional areas, making it not monotonous to stroll around. Instead, it becomes more interesting due to the aesthetics of Chinese architecture. Especially under the light of early morning and evening, it is very charming.
🛏Room facilities:
The rooms at Six Senses are mainly made of wood, from doors and windows to tables, chairs, and beds. The wood appears particularly smooth over time, making it quite visually appealing. Wooden fans, wooden floors, cotton and linen curtains, and traditional elements combined together create a strong sense of history. The bathroom is made of polished micro-cement, which may not be considered special now, but it was definitely innovative at the time. Of course, solid wood materials are destined to age and crack over time, which is an unavoidable characteristic. The bedding is simple, not high-end, but it offers buckwheat pillows, lavender pillows, cassia seed pillows, and latex pillows, which are suitable for guests who don't like down pillows. Depending on the room type, the size and function of the courtyard may vary, and there are options for balcony hot tubs and swimming pools.
🍽Dining recommendations:
The hotel offers simple vegetables from its own farm, and the noodle stall has great flavors. The hot dish area is at a normal level, and freshly ground coffee is available. However, the milk and soy milk have a noticeable powdery texture, and most of the steamed dumplings are from Zhengda, especially the handmade ones.
The Ziqiyuan Chinese Restaurant has a good reputation. Although the presentation is not exquisite, the taste is excellent, with almost every dish being noteworthy. It is a hidden gem with unassuming strength.
🌟Highlights:
The hotel also has a kids' club, offering professional parent-child activity teachers. Children can participate in handicraft activities and get close to nature. Each child receives an exclusive passport upon check-in, and they can collect stamps for activities to exchange for small gifts.
The front desk provides a map, and you can actually spend a whole day just staying at the hotel.
Honestly, luxury is luxury, even if it has been around for a while, the stay experience is still great.
