[2025 Taipei Attraction] Travel Guide for Sisinan Village Museum (Updated Jun)

This Songkran long holiday, I have a travel plan to recommend. It's a plan to travel outside the city in Taiwan. Easy to go by yourself, in the style of those who like to travel in a natural way. Follow me! 🗓️Travel planning: Day 1 Take a plane from Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Airport to Taiwan, Taoyuan Airport T1. Check in at Fun Inn Taipei Hostel. The price is not expensive, around 900-1,000 baht/person/night. After checking in, at night, let's explore the Ximending area. Day 2 In the morning, travel to the ancient military village Si Si Nan Cun Village. Get off at Taipei 101 Station, Exit 4. Along the way, stop to take a picture with the Taipei 101 building and walk to the village. Then take the MRT to Taipei Main Station, Exit M8, turn left to take bus number 849, the first stop. Sit all the way to the end of the line. It takes about 2 hours to Wulai Old Street, a city in a valley. Walk around the city for about 3-4 hours and take a car back to Taipei. In the evening, stop to pray at Longshan Temple. After that, go to Shilin Night Market for dinner. Day 3: Go to Yangmingshan National Park. Take the MRT to Jiantan Station, Exit 1, then take bus S15 to Qingtiangang. You can walk around the park all day. There are beautiful grasslands to take pictures. Day 4 Leave Taipei to Sun Moon Lake by taking the Taipei High Speed ​​Rail and then continuing on to the HSR Taichung Station. Then take a bus or taxi to your accommodation in Sun Moon Lake. In the evening, there are activities to do, such as walking, riding an electric bike to worship Buddha, etc. Day 5 Return from Sun Moon Lake to Taipei Main Station, take a car to Baimen Station, take a 1-hour bus to Jiufen Old Street, check in to your accommodation and go out to walk around the night market, see the lights and take pictures. Day 6 Wake up early, leave Jiufen for Ruifeng Train Station for about 40-50 minutes, then take a car to Shifen for another 20 minutes to Shifen Old Street. Here, you can release lanterns with various wishes, walk around the city, there is a beautiful waterfall to take pictures of, then take a car back to Ruifeng Trai Station and take a bus back to Taipei. Day 7 In the morning, travel to Bitoujiao Cape (this place is very beautiful, I like it). It is a walking path along the mountain ridge. See beautiful sea views along the way. Meet many Taiwanese elderly people hiking. The way to get there is to take the train to Ruifang Station, then take bus number 856 and get off at Baitou stop. It takes about 3 hours to walk the trail on the mountain ridge, the distance is about 4 kilometers. Then take the bus back to Taipei. Today, I checked into the Taipei Eslite Hotel, located in the heart of the Xinyi District. The hotel features a minimalist and modern design, directly facing the iconic Taipei 101. In the afternoon, I took a leisurely walk to Si Si Nan Cun, a well-preserved military dependents' village that has now become a gentle hub for cultural exhibitions and handmade markets. The weathered walls and handwritten doorplates transport visitors back to the old days of Taipei. The photo exhibition area narrates the life stories of mainland Chinese immigrants when they first arrived in Taiwan, showcasing simple yet deeply emotional moments that are truly moving. In the café, old songs play softly, and time seems to slow down, like a film reel unwinding frame by frame. By evening, I returned to the Eslite Hotel. As the city lights came on, the bustling urban landscape intertwined with the tranquility of the old village in my mind, much like the contrasting chapters of life.
