The Singapore Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, formerly known as the Urban Construction Bureau Exhibition Gallery, displays the development process of Singapore from its opening as a port to the present, as well as the planning of urban space and green space development, preservation of ancient architectural relics, etc. A lifelike model of the city centre plan is a major attraction in the exhibition hall, and there are sound and light demonstrations introducing Singapore's major landmarks - the Singapore River, Orchard Road and new plans for Marina Bay and BrasBasah-Bugis.

Singapore City Gallery
Spread over 3 levels, this is the place to go if you want to find out how the city is planned. Multi-media exhibits and giant sized physical city models explains all about the history of city planning and plans for the future. The highlight must surely be the Singapore island model at the 1st floor and CBD model at 2nd floor (with light and sound shows at certain times of day). Roving and temporary exhibitions can also be found at the 1st storey. And the best part is ... it's FREE !!

A Lovely Museum
I spent hours in here and will definitely go back again. There are several floors of cityscape models, urban planning displays, old historical maps and great interactive features.
For anyone interested in how Singapore was developed, how the city works and it's plans for the future this is a must visit!
The building itself is peaceful and beautiful inside with indoor atriums and water features. Around the outside are some intriguing sculptures and cool places to sit.
There are plenty of activities for kids of all ages and a great place to visit for students of urban planning and design history.
Best of all - it is right across the road from the well known Maxwell Road Hawker centre. I popped across for lunch and went back.

What's expensive in Singapore? 💰
As we all know, accommodation, food, and tickets in Singapore are not cheap, and even a subway + bus ride can cost a lot. Want to save money and take special photos? Don't worry! Today, we recommend 4 hidden and free attractions, all within walking distance, so you can even save on transportation costs! 📍
📍1. Maxwell Chambers: A place where history and modernity meet
Maxwell Chambers is an elegant neoclassical building, low-key but with a great history! It used to be an old post office and now has won the "Architectural Heritage Award". European architecture + modern urban background, every photo is amazing! And it's right in the city center, within walking distance!
📍2. Singapore City Gallery: Stunning city model
This is the best place to learn about Singapore's planning, and it's free!
The huge 3D city model of Singapore shows the layout of the entire city, with amazing details! If you are interested in architecture and urban development, you must come and see it! And the air conditioning is cool, and the photos are beautiful!
📍3. Jinrikisha Station: Hidden retro feel on the street
If you like the retro feel of old streets, Jinrikisha Station is worth a visit! 🚲
This century-old building used to be a gathering place for rickshaw drivers, and now it has become a quiet check-in point. The light yellow walls and retro window frames make it look like you are traveling back to the colonial era!
📍4. Bridge next to PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering: A great photo spot!
You must have seen the super cool "Sky Garden Hotel" in Singapore online - PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering 🌿. But many people don't know that the best photo angle is actually on the bridge next to it! 🚶♂️
Standing on the bridge, you can take a perfect photo of the entire green hotel, and we even encountered a pigeon in the frame, which made us very happy 🌟

📝Singapore Travelogue part6: Singapore City Gallery📝
🖼🖼🖼🖼
The Singapore City Gallery, with its English name Singapore City Gallery, is an exhibition hall that showcases the urban planning and development of Singapore. Singapore has been established for less than 60 years, evolving from a small fishing village to today's international metropolis. There's much to learn and admire, especially in terms of architectural highlights.
📷📷📷📷
Here, you can systematically see the entire urban construction model of Singapore, with highly detailed models of all those iconic skyscrapers. There are also some exhibition explanations and interactive projects. If you happen to be nearby, I think it's definitely worth a visit.

See How Singapore Developed Over the Years
Located at 45 Maxwell Road in The URA Center, Singapore City Gallery offers an informative, immersive, and interactive gallery of showing the transformation of Singapore over the years. The location is not far away from tourist spots in Singapore so making a side trip to this gallery should not be an issue. Admission is free too!
The gallery is very kid-friendly as the gallery is interactive very apt for families. Making the gallery interactive and immersive is a fun approach for a rather serious and educational topic. The highlight for me is the scale model of central Singapore and the projection show of the island wide model. I really took my time here. Wayfinding inside the gallery is not too hard. There are staff around that you can ask if you have questions.
If you're the type of person who likes to learn when on a vacation, visit the gallery. You can catch guided tours led by URA volunteers on certain days and self-guided tour through an app for a more proper way of learning. Visit their website for more information especially if you're a big group.

The former
The former City Hall and Supreme Court buildings have been refurbished to become Singapore’s National Gallery. It is the largest visual art gallery in the city-state and is mostly dedicated to local and Southeast Asian art from the 19th century to the present day. So all the pretty modern and contemporary stuff then. Many of the works on display are drawn from the permanent National Collection but there’s also a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions to check out too. #awesomepic #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer
