There are many hidden lovely tiny towns in east coast of Taiwan. I made a walk from Shitiping to Shimen, where both cities located in Fengbin township of Taitung county. I was listening to the sound of waves, feel the warmth from the Mother Nature and enjoy the walk from the time I see blue sky till the sunset along the shoreline. The east coast of Taiwan has its incredible stunning view to Pacific Ocean. I took a coach from Hualien city to Jingpu. It’s cost me TWD248 and travelling time in between cities is around 3 hours. They are many aboriginals live in the province and they keep their own culture and living style since hundreds of years. Flying fish is one of the most signature food in this area. Take a stroll through the nature reserve in the Huadong Coastal Reserve. After the establishment of the Eastern Coast National Scenic Area, the site was designated as Shitiping Recreation Area. An island in Taiwan, even if it is surrounded by the sea, every coastline can bring surprises. The coast that you can see at the end of the south side of Shitiwan is a seashore with a kilometer of gray and white rock. Standing on a high point overlooking the entire ocean, watching the waves tumbling over the rocks, can't help but sigh the wonders of nature!

Hualien-Taitung Coast Day Tour, heading to Shitiping Scenic Area! Shitiping is located on the south side of Shitiping Bay in Fengbin. The entire coastline features a rocky coastal erosion landscape, including monocline hills, sea erosion trenches, potholes, and intertidal zones, all the way to Shitiping Harbor, a prime whale watching spot. Our itinerary includes about an hour's stay, perfect for a leisurely walk and taking photos. We also plan to enjoy some seafood at the fishing port! Previously, my impression of Shitiping was limited to the popular Slow Inn. I had never actually entered the Shitiping Scenic Area. This time, the tour guide arranged for a one-hour stay, allowing us to truly experience the grandeur of the coastal erosion landscape. The unique scenery, with its gray-white rocky formations resembling a lunar landscape, is quite photogenic. This was also my first visit to Shitiping Fishing Port. By noon, there was no fish market to explore, only a few seafood snack stalls by the pier and some whale-watching boat operators. It was quite refreshing. Perhaps next time, I should plan a whale-watching trip.

Standing on the rock platform, facing the vast Pacific Ocean, waves crash against the rocky shore, creating white sprays. This magnificent scene makes you pause to appreciate the power and beauty of nature. ⛰️ Climb the Observation Deck for a Panoramic View In addition to admiring the sea-eroded terrain up close, I climbed the observation deck at Shitiping to overlook the entire coastline from above. From the deck, you can clearly see the spectacular sea-eroded platform, with the horizon extending endlessly, offering a broad and refreshing view. If you're lucky, you might spot dolphins or flying seabirds here. Occasionally, you can see anglers fishing by the rocks, adding a touch of leisure to the serene seascape. 🌅 Dreamy Moments at Dusk If time permits, it is recommended to stay until dusk, when Shitiping takes on a different charm.
