📍Shiratori Shrine, Kagawa Prefecture
Shiratori Shrine has a site of about 130,000 square meters,
and there are various things to see within the large grounds.
The area around the shrine is called "Shiratori no Matsubara" (Swan Pine Grove) because it is close to the coast and many pine trees grow on the sand.
Because it is close to the sea, the wind is strong,
and it seems that pines were planted to protect the shrine, and currently about 1,500 pines grow there.
Many windmills have been installed in the corridor leading to "Otsurumon",
and it has become a popular spot at Shiratori Shrine.
This is an initiative that started in September 2021,
and it is filled with the wish that "good winds will blow and things will go well."
The number of windmills, which was originally about 500, has now more than doubled, and the colors change with the seasons.
It's nice to visit every season and enjoy the differences!
