I floated with schools of fish, then stretched out on the sand with an açai bowl from the nearby café. Families picnicked under trees and the vibe was warm and welcoming. After a chill brunch at Manly, we took the scenic walk along the coast to Shelly Beach — and wow, it’s absolutely worth carving out time for. The path hugs the shoreline, with panoramic ocean views, crashing waves, and plenty of photo spots along the way. It’s an easy and breezy walk, perfect for all fitness levels, and takes about 10–15 minutes at a relaxed pace. Along the way, you’ll pass rocky cliffs, surfers in action, and little lookout points where you can just stop and take it all in. Shelly Beach at the end is a lovely reward — calm waters, fewer crowds, and the kind of peaceful vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. During my recent trip to Sydney, I had the chance to visit Manly Beach, and it turned out to be one of the most serene and memorable parts of my journey. The sound of waves crashing against the rocks and the distant silhouettes of surfers riding the swells created a peaceful, almost cinematic atmosphere. What I loved most about Manly Beach was how spacious and relaxing it felt—less crowded than Bondi, with a more laid-back, local vibe. There’s a natural rock pool at the southern end (visible in the photo) where you can sit quietly and watch the waves roll in. The combination of city skyline, nature, and ocean breeze is truly something special. If you’re visiting Sydney and want a scenic break away from the city bustle, hop on a ferry to Manly.
