[2025 Hefei Stay] Travel Guide for Shangri-La Hotel Hefei (Updated Feb)

The hotel is in a strange location, there seems to be nothing nearby. The Horizon Club is on the 27th floor, with a panoramic view of Hefei. Our room was spacious, but the shower only had a shower head, no rain shower. The toiletries were only the small green bottles from Shangri-La, you have to ask the staff to get L'Occitane. The staff were very nice. The complimentary fruit was simple, and the snack was Huangshan biscuits with minced meat, which tasted good. I was surprised to find that the hotel put a lot of effort into the happy hour, with roast duck, braised pork, egg dumplings, glutinous rice shumai, delicious onion scrambled eggs, a variety of sushi, many local cold dishes, mushroom soup, mung bean soup, and beautiful presentation. The Huizhou cuisine was salty, the braised pork was very salty, and the shumai had no meat or mushroom filling, but it tasted great. I guess the locals eat it with rice, so it's very salty. The chocolate mousse cake and matcha cake were surprisingly delicious! The dishes were constantly updated, and they even brought me my favorite cheesecake, which looked a bit strange, but tasted great. I didn't expect the desserts at a Hefei hotel to be so good. I didn't have high expectations, but the Horizon Club happy hour was great!

Shangri-La Hotel Hefei is the 8th Shangri-La hotel I have stayed at. Shangri-La Hefei is in a very ordinary location. From the window, you can see the tall buildings across the street, but there are no special or landmark buildings. There is not much to do nearby, and there are not many good restaurants. Hefei is not a typical tourist city, so this hotel is mainly for business travelers. Shangri-La Hefei is not much different from most Shangri-La hotels. The lobby has the signature scent and some classic Shangri-La style. Check-in was a little slow, but the service was good. The elevator and stairwell design is simple and modern. The room is still luxurious, with classic Shangri-La cabinets and a headboard. The living room is about 40 square meters, which is quite spacious. There are no USB ports by the bed. Two bottles of Ice Dew are free drinking water. The tea bags are three types of Zesta, and the coffee is Douwe Egberts regular and decaf. The bathroom is not large. The bathroom is TOTO.
