Had our recent BKK stay at the newly reopen Krungthep Wing at Shangri La Bangkok. The wing is at another corner of the main wing, hence it makes it a way quieter and secluded. (The only hotel lobby was just us and the hotel staff! Kinda private but kinda eerie too) Overall stay was high commendable. Hotel rooms has a classical Luxury design (Tiles are in Marble) hence for those who like a modern contemporary design I guess you may find the hotel “old”. Facilities in the hotel are sufficient, however no doubt prices in the hotel can be expensive. Nonetheless, there are nearby food joints and small massage outlets next to the hotel to save that extra penny in you wallet. Transportation is some what convenient (BTS next to Krungthep Wing). The hotel also provide a free ferry to Iconsiam shopping mall (however do be mindful the last ferry leaves at 0530pm BKK time, so any late evening shopping after that you will have to grab a taxi back from the mall or take the BTS back!) What I really hope the hotel will provide are kids friendly facilities and amenities, similarly like how their other properties overseas (i.e. Shangri La Sg has a very good kids play area - Buds) All in all, my family and I had a good time at Shangri La Bangkok (Krungthep Wing)! The hotel is located in a magnificent five-star hotel on the banks of the Zhaopiye River. I stayed in a river view room this time, which cost about $1900 per night without breakfast. The price of the Riverside Hotel is relatively expensive, and the rooms are not particularly large. We were originally assigned to a high floor, the 25th floor, but the river view there was really Too close. So I asked to change rooms later. Sure enough, the river view was more direct, and I could get close to the banks of the Thao Piya River. I felt very happy and excited sitting on the sofa and watching the shining cruise ships coming and going outside the window. The swimming pool in Shangri-La is very big and beautiful. This Christmas weekend, I and family decide to stay in bangkok in order to avoid traffic jam when we go another province. We spend our weekend at Shangri-la Bangkok, Healty club in particular. There are a lot of exercise instruments here. We can join yoga class, dance, and also aerobic. Swimming pool is quite small and so crowded. Jacuzzi is best way to relax after finish exercise.

The Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand has a really beautiful view. I booked a terrace room, but luckily I was assigned a side terrace room, which made me feel really good. I was given the 20th floor. As soon as I entered the room, I felt really open and spacious. The night view is also great. There are a lot of people, but since it is an old hotel, the lobby is very large, so it is not very inconvenient. There are many cheap massage shops nearby, and it is good to get one massage a day. I think one of the most important things when choosing a hotel in Southeast Asia is security and safety. This place is well-equipped for Bangkok. The staff service is very friendly, needless to say. The cleanliness is also good. If you have a chance, please try it. ^^

This makes the location of this hotel very unique. As one building is under renovation at the moment the other building is under high demand. From the top of the hotel you can watch the sunset across the river on the one side and the skyline of Bangkok with its major skyscrapers on the other side. The hotel is in a good location, close to the BTS station, and there are many massage stations and snack shops nearby. I was a little worried before checking in that the hotel room would be so old. Although the hotel rooms are not new, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and do not feel old. The hotel is located on the riverside and the rooms facing the river offer beautiful views. The breakfast is also very rich, and my favorite is the various juices. The hotel is good overall, especially the swimming pool. A famous Chinese restaurant. If you come with a group, you can order Japanese dishes or Peking duck, roast suckling pig, abalone, bird's nest, and other dishes. There were only two of us dining this time, and we ordered the fragrant abalone and crab meat soup, the distinct Yangzhou fried rice, the juicy Kung Pao cashew chicken, and the chewy and crispy cold jellyfish salad. As soon as you enter the door, you can feel the grandeur of an old five-star hotel. The crystal chandeliers are very eye-catching. The hotel covers a large area. The 2022 APEC will be held in Shangri-La, and you can see that they are very proud to display the style of the hotel. The hotel facilities are marked in multiple languages, which is very considerate. The room has a great view, with a clear view of the Chao Phraya River, and welcome fruits are also prepared. The pool is spacious with nice surroundings and plenty of seating areas. The breakfast is varied, especially the Indian dishes and freshly made pancakes, which is very interesting.

Located at 89 Soi Wat Suan Plu, New Road Bangrak, Bangkok 10500 Thailand I am staying in the Shangri La Bangkok since many years,several times per year,mostly in the Horizon Club which is an exclusive section of this beautiful hotel located on the top 4 floors of the hotel. We celebrated an anniversary in Horizon Club rooms at Sangri-La and it is a visit I will remember. The Horizon rooms are located on the top floors and connected to the floor with the Horizon Lounge by a circular, grand staircase. The rooms are unique in design and the thai heritage is visible in the decor. We recieved a chocolate treat as a special welcome and with regards to the room I could wish for nothing more. The view is to die for and the architecture is clever so that rooms on both sides of the corridor have river views. The lounge is very large with devoted staff (a special thanks to Kook!). They serve breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with a buffet. We tried breakfast downstairs but were unimpressed. While everything else at this grand hotel is the best in its class, the downstairs breakfast was noisy, messy and for some reason guests cannot help themselves to fruit, baked goods and yoghurt. You must wait behind a counter while staff picks pieces of fruit for you, which is time-consuming and strange. I was also surprised by how different hospitality was in the breakfast restaurant: we waited a long time for coffee, were not offered refills and the egg station chef sloppily poured scrambled eggs on top of my plate with indian curry. So for breakfast the lounge is much better if you have the opportunity. Afternoon tea is limited (better at Marriott, Hilton Conrad in my opinion) but they do serve 2 sets of sandwiches, scones and fresh fruit. The real experience is cocktail hour where they let you choose from a list of 12 cocktails, wine and beer. The buffet is enough to sustain you until breakfast so we did not go out for dinner afterwards. They serve lovely chocolates from the lobby chocolaterie after the main courses and everything is beautifully laid out. Large pool area, stunning lobby, very kind and respectful staff everywhere but the breakfast room. Thank you, Shangri-La, for this most enjoyable experience. We will live on the memory until we can return! This section of the Shangri La is an oasis of luxury calm and smiles. The rooms are Feng Shui beautifully decorated with magnificent view on the river. The Club has been closed for a long period during the Covid 19 period. The spa name "chi" or generally known as "qi" is believed to be a vital life force that forms our well being and vitality in the Chinese culture. At the chi spa, holistic treatment are provided based on each individual needs. I was asked to fill up some questionnaire and also if there are any particular area that I want to focus on. A very nice touch as I don't get asked this question often. The treatment room is very big, and this kinda made me feel more peaceful and at ease as I don't really like a very small room. Claustrophobic! Masseuse was very professional and skillful. I opt for their aromatherapy massage but felt that the strength is a little lacking as I prefer a massage that's a little more force. Stepping into the hotel, the Thai-style decor and enthusiastic staff instantly melt away the fatigue of the journey. The rooms are very cozy. At night, the view of the Chao Phraya River from the window is absolutely stunning. The hotel's outdoor swimming pool faces the Chao Phraya River. While swimming and enjoying the evening breeze, it feels like you own the whole of Bangkok. I love their afternoon tea and the view of Bangkok from the floor-to-ceiling windows!!!

It turns out that the celebration heart mentioned in Booking in advance, this hotel has been arranged beyond what I thought, is the swan photo decoration, the heart card has 6 lines of words as a souvenir and a large chocolate gift, very touching ah!
