Red Scenic Spot Shajiabang
Shajiabang is famous for the Peking Opera "Shajiabang". After entering the gate of Shajiabang, you can take the "Shajiabang Scenic Area Guide Map" from the bulletin board next to the landscape map to plan your tour route.
The scenic area is mainly divided into a dining area, revolutionary education area, Hongshi Village, national defense education area, wetland botanical garden, Hengjing Old Street, Shuanglian Lake Charm, and reed maze.
After passing through the square with statues of A Qing's wife and New Fourth Army instructor Guo Jianguang, you can first visit the Shajiabang Revolutionary History Memorial Hall to learn about the anti-Japanese history of Shajiabang. Hongshi Village is a typical small village in the water town of Jiangnan, with Wenchang Pavilion, Ship Boxing Hall, Root Carving Hall, Wedding Custom Hall, etc.
In the Hidden Lake Corridor, you can take a Wupeng boat or land to the reed maze, which has a water maze and a land maze. The water maze is by boat, and the land maze is by walking on the plank road paved on the water. The reed maze has a rear hospital and the site of the Donglai Teahouse. (The reeds are not very dense, and I didn't choose to take a boat with the elderly) You can choose to go to the land maze last, and there is a pavilion in the water to rest.
You can walk northeast to the Hengjing Old Street via the waterfront plank road. This is the ancient town of Shajiabang restored for the filming of the TV series "Shajiabang", with a winery, blacksmith shop, weaving workshop, etc. There are also Diao's mansion and restaurants.
There are performances of Peking Opera "Shajiabang" on the old street and Hongshi Village. See Figure 13 for the performance time; there is a small chorus at the entrance (about 10 o'clock), and there is also a flower-carrying performance at Diao's mansion (about 12 o'clock), and the performance time is not fixed.
Due to the physical strength of the elderly, I did not go to the national defense education park and other attractions. There are not many places to eat in the old street, there are Shajiabang specialties (50 yuan/piece on the old street, 40 yuan/piece near the exit of the scenic spot, I don't like to eat, and there is no difference), and some tofu flower, wonton snack bars, teahouses, milk tea shops, etc. There are shops selling gorgon rice cakes at the exit of the scenic spot, 15 yuan/piece, which is still hot when you buy it, very delicious, you can buy it and try it.
