Finally for a chance to go inside the stunning cathedral “Catedral de Sevilla”
In terms of surface area, Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. However, the floor plan is not in the shape of the Latin cross that’s customary in this type of church – it’s square. This is because it was built on the site of the city’s great mosque, and adapted to the already existing structure. Thus the Arab minaret became the bell tower, La Giralda, which at a height of almost one hundred metres was the tallest tower in the world at that time. The Patio de los Naranjos and the Puerta del Perdón were also inherited from the mosque.
Had a chance to walk around the church itself and sat for a while and prayed as well, it was nice and quiet inside and so beautiful to look at. I highly recommend giving it a visit such a stunning structure.

The BEST views in Sevilla…
Come here for the best aerial views…Here’s more detail on each of these vantage points in Seville:
1. **Metropol Parasol**: Often referred to as "Las Setas" (The Mushrooms), this modern wooden structure in La Encarnación square offers a unique panoramic view of Seville. The walkway on top provides 360-degree views of the city, including landmarks like the Giralda and the Cathedral.
2. **Torre del Oro**: This 13th-century watchtower, located along the Guadalquivir River, offers stunning views of the river and the city. Climbing to the top of the tower provides a picturesque perspective of the surrounding area, including the city's waterfront.
3. **Giralda Tower**: Originally a minaret of the mosque that stood on the site of Seville Cathedral, the Giralda is now a bell tower. Climbing its ramp provides an impressive view of both the cathedral's intricate architecture and the city beyond.
Each of these spots provides a unique angle on Seville’s beauty and history.

Seville Royal Alcázar
Seville Cathedral
Plaza de España
The Royal Alcázar has a Middle Eastern and Arabic style, exquisitely designed, but not as luxurious as the Royal Palace of Madrid.
Seville Cathedral is the third largest cathedral in the world, with a tall bell tower and a large church.
Plaza de España is the largest square in Spain. Although it was very hot, we took a horse carriage from the Royal Alcázar for 45 euros, waited at traffic lights, passed a roundabout, and seamlessly arrived at Plaza de España. At first, it didn't seem impressive, but once inside, it was stunning. The beauty of Plaza de España must be experienced.

"Captivating Seville: Tapas, Traditions, and Timeless Charm"
Strolling through the winding, cobblestone streets of Seville, I was immediately enchanted by the city's rich history and vibrant culture. At the Plaza de España, I stood in awe of the stunning, semicircular Renaissance-style architecture, its intricate mosaic tiles and fountains reflecting the warm Andalusian sun.
As I wandered deeper into the city, the scent of freshly baked churros and rich, aromatic coffee beckoned me to a charming local café. I settled into a cozy corner, sipping my café con leche and savoring the crisp, golden pastries. The lively chatter of the locals and the rhythmic click of flamenco heels filtering in from the street only added to the intoxicating atmosphere.
Later, I made my way to the iconic Seville Cathedral, its towering Gothic spires and delicate Moorish arches a testament to the city's diverse cultural heritage. I climbed to the top of the Giralda, the cathedral's iconic bell tower, and gazed out over the vibrant rooftops and winding Guadalquivir River below.
As the day drew to a close, I found myself in the lively Barrio de Santa Cruz, navigating the narrow, flower-lined alleyways in search of the perfect tapas spot. I settled into a bustling local haunt, indulging in a parade of small plates - from rich Iberian ham and creamy croquetas to tangy Manchego and sweet, juicy tomatoes. With each bite, I savored the flavors of Seville, feeling truly immersed in the city's captivating spirit.
As the evening wore on, the sounds of Spanish guitar and the rhythmic stomping of flamenco dancers filled the air, drawing me further into the enchanting cultural fabric of this remarkable city. In that moment, I knew I had discovered a true gem - a place where history, tradition, and joie de vivre seamlessly intertwine, creating an experience that would linger in my memories for years to come.

Impressive Cathedral
#familytrips2024
As one of the largest cathedrals in the world, Seville Cathedral certainly casts an impressive shadow over the whole city. The Cathedral is stunning, breathtaking and a marvel. The cathedral is really huge. It is a mix of Islamic and Catholic architecture and has many altars, a huge wall with figurines from the Bible and many more holy figurines.
The tomb of Columbus is here, and it is a masterpiece in itself. Climbing all the way to the top of the bell tower was a stunning experience with wonderful views at the top. Highly recommended!
Our dream destination is to go to Hong Kong for my family trip as Hong Kong is paradise for food lovers, offering a wide variety of culinary delights. My family will enjoy it very much.

Splendid Seville
Seville, the capital of Spain's Andalusia region, is a city renowned for its flamenco rhythms, Moorish architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. With a history that spans Roman, Islamic, and Christian influences, Seville offers a rich tapestry of traditions, stunning architecture, and lively festivals.
What to Expect
Visitors to Seville are greeted by a city of warm colors and fragrant orange trees, with a historic center that is one of the largest in Europe. The Seville Cathedral, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world, houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus and boasts the Giralda, a former minaret turned bell tower, offering panoramic views of the city. Adjacent to the cathedral is the Alcázar of Seville, a stunning royal palace that blends Islamic and Christian architectural styles with its lush gardens and intricate tilework.
Experiences and Recommendations
Exploring the narrow, winding streets of the Santa Cruz neighborhood reveals hidden courtyards, vibrant tapas bars, and charming plazas. A visit to the Plaza de España, an impressive semicircular building with a large central fountain and a canal crossed by ornate bridges, showcases Spain's regional cultures in a series of tiled alcoves.
To truly experience Seville, attend a flamenco show at one of the city's many tablaos or intimate venues like Casa de la Memoria, where the passionate dance and music form a quintessential part of Andalusian culture. Seville's Semana Santa (Holy Week) and Feria de Abril (April Fair) are two of Spain's most famous festivals, drawing visitors from around the world for their elaborate parades, traditional dress, and festive atmosphere.
Tips and Tricks
The best times to visit Seville are in the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) when the weather is mild, and the city's gardens are in full bloom. During the summer months, temperatures can soar, making it less comfortable for daytime exploration.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential for navigating the cobblestone streets, and taking a siesta during the hot afternoons can help you adjust to the local rhythm of life. Try local specialties like gazpacho, jamón ibérico, and churros with chocolate for an authentic taste of Seville..

Seville Half-Day Essential Tour Itinerary
Seville Half-Day Essential Tour Itinerary.
🍊 A retro small town filled with the scent of oranges, I really like Seville, and it's worth a visit. There aren't too many tourists. The colorful houses and exquisite shops in the alleys are also great to explore. The grand palace is a filming location for Game of Thrones, and you can hear the clip-clop of horse carriages on the streets. It's the birthplace of Tapas and Flamenco dance, the hometown of Don Juan from Byron's writings. I love the sunshine here and the passionate people.

Game of Thrones and the Glory of Faith: Pursuing the Footsteps of History in Seville
Our journey takes us to the enchanting city of Seville, which not only boasts Europe's oldest royal palace - the Seville Palace, but also the third largest cathedral in the world - the Seville Cathedral. What's more exciting is that the Seville Palace was the filming location for the palace gardens of the Martell family in the popular TV series Game of Thrones. We can't wait to witness the grandeur of these magnificent buildings with our own eyes.
We first stepped into the Seville Palace, and this historic palace immediately shocked us with its luxury and refinement. Walking in the palace, we seem to travel back to the glorious past, the delicate murals, gorgeous decorations and exquisite furniture all show the wealth and taste of the Spanish royal family. And those familiar scenes from Game of Thrones give us a wonderful experience of the intertwining of reality and fiction.
The palace gardens are equally breathtaking, with lush vegetation, exquisite fountains, and maze-like flower beds creating a peaceful and beautiful world. Here, we found the prototype of the Martell family's garden in Game of Thrones, and those familiar scenes made us recall the wonderful moments in the drama.
Then, our steps led us to the Seville Cathedral, the grandeur of this Gothic building made us awe-inspiring. Its huge dome and towering spires are even more spectacular against the blue sky. We walked into the interior of the cathedral, attracted by the gorgeous stained glass windows and delicate carvings. Here, we not only felt the power of religious faith, but also awe at human architectural talent.
Walking in the cloister of the Seville Cathedral, we seem to hear the echo of history, each stone tells a story of the past. Standing in the center of the third largest cathedral in the world, we involuntarily lowered our voices, fearing to disturb this sacred land.
As night fell, we strolled on the streets of Seville, reminiscing about what we had seen and felt during the day. This city showed us the glory of power and faith in its unique way, giving us a deeper understanding of Spanish history and culture. This trip not only allowed us to appreciate the beauty of Seville, but also filled us with respect for the great achievements of human civilization. We will continue our journey with these beautiful memories, looking for more wonders of the world.

Seville, Spain | The most authentic flamenco is here
For a long time, Seville has been my favorite city in the top1 ranking.
💛I love Seville too much.
The streets are wide, the buildings are low, the city is flat, and it is evenly bathed in sunlight.
💛There are blue skies and palm trees, with a friendly but not lost gorgeous trait.
Every attraction has a surprise beyond psychological expectations.
🔸【Seville Cathedral】
It is the third largest Gothic cathedral in the world and the final resting place of Columbus. The window flowers inside are exquisite and the carvings are extremely complicated. The "gilded screen" in the main chapel truly deserves the reputation of "glittering". Always shocked by the cathedral.
Climbing to the top of the Giralda, you can overlook the beautiful panorama of Seville.
🔸【Seville Palace】
Visiting the Seville Palace, I always feel that the scenery is familiar. Later I learned that this is the filming location of the Martell family palace in Dorne in Game of Thrones. This is the oldest royal palace in Europe.
🔸【Spanish Square】
"The most beautiful Spanish square in the world is in Seville".
Red brick and iron art make the entire Spanish square retro and bright. There are many exquisite murals on the Roman-style cloister, representing the historical scenes of different provinces in Spain. The sunset sets the entire square in orange, which is beautiful.
🔸【Golden Tower】
It is a witness to the glorious maritime history of Seville. The Golden Tower is painted with a layer of gold powder all around, so it is called the Golden Tower, but as time goes by, the gold powder falls off. But under the sunset, it still presents a golden color, shining as before.
🔸【Seville Bullring】
The Royal Knight Bullring is one of the most important and traditional bullrings in Spain, and it has been mentioned in countless novels, movies, and operas. Bullfighting events are still held here every year.

Discovering the Beauty and Culture of Seville: From Orange Tree Lined Streets to Architectural Delights
After a week and a half of being in Seville, I find myself constantly drawn in by the beauty of the smallest (and largest) of things here.
The orange tree lined streets, young girls doing photo shoots in the park, architectural details, sun shining at just the right angle, and so much more.
When traveling, don’t forget to always look up, down, and all around. You don’t want to miss the beauty and culture of wherever you are.

Seville cathedral is absolutely historical!
Seville cathedral is one of the largest churches in the world, and it must be one of the most beautiful! It was consecrated over 500 years ago and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Inside the cathedral are also the remains of the famous explorer, Christopher Columbus and his son. Entry is 11 euros for adults, and that includes entry to La Giralda too. Spend at least one hour wandering around and viewing the stained glass windows.

Standing on the lower right side of Columbus's coffin, being stared at by a pair of sharp eyes, the front page of a history textbook is right in front of me.
Seville Cathedral is one of the three largest cathedrals in the world. In 1898, Columbus's remains were transported back here and buried inside the cathedral. The Gothic style and grand carvings make this cathedral majestic and towering to this day.

Interior Wonderful Art
It is located at Av. de la Constitucion, s/n 41004 Sevilla.
The interior has the longest nave of any cathedral in Spain. The central nave rises to a height of 42 meters, the most noticeable features are the boxlike choir loft, which fills the central portion of the nave.
The cathedral has 80 chapels, including the Capilla Mayor. The chapel creates a dazzling impression. A masterpiece of Gothic woodcraving, this massive retablo ( 30mX20m ) features the Virgen de la Sede, surrounded by scenes from the life of Christ and Virgin.
The Tomb of Christopher Columbus is one of the main attractions of the Cathedral for visitors, housing the remains of the great explorer who died in poverty in Valladolid. The tomb itself is more recent, from 1892, with four bearers presenting the kingdoms of Castile, Leon, Aragon and Navarra.
