Scrumptious Lunch at Seven Oaks Cafe
We travelled to JB over the weekend, again! This time, we decided to go explore cafes/eateries nearby KSL mall. Seven Oaks Cafe is one of the cafes on our long list - it is quite a renowned bakery that sells not only bread but also brunch.
There were many choices and it was tempting to try them all! As a starter, we ordered crab meat croissant and pistachio cromboloni to satisfy our rumbling stomachs while waiting for the mains. The croissant boasted a rich flavour but it was disappointing that the crab meat was processed. On the other hand, the crombolini was really delicious with each bite bursting with delightful pistachio flavour. I ordered it out of curiosity because I had never seen or tried it before and no regrets!
For the mains, we ordered fried chicken waffle and shakshouka. The chicken was crispy with tender meat but I wished the waffle could be less dense. The shakshouka, however, was very good. Shakshouka was a dish of poached eggs simmered in tomato and vegetables sauce paired with pita bread. The impeccable blend of spices enhances the tomato's tangy flavour without overpowering it - brilliant!
Overall, the food is good, the coffee is authentic, and the ambience is great for a quiet afternoon lunch or tea.
