Review of Metropol Parasol in Seville
Metropol Parasol in Seville is a unique architectural structure that locals call 'Setas' (mushrooms). It is the largest wooden structure in the world, combining modern design with ancient Roman ruins. At the top, there is an observation deck where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Seville. Visiting during sunset allows you to relish the golden cityscape. On the first floor, there is an archaeological museum where you can admire historical artifacts, making it a unique space to experience both the past and present of Seville.
Observation deck entrance fee: 15 euros

Metropol Parasol
Seville hosts the world’s largest wooden structure: Metropol Parasol, also known as Las Setas. It's an amazing piece of modern architecture in the center of the city.
I recommend paying the small entry fee to climb the stairs to the top. From the top you can look closely at the design and get panoramic views of Seville city.

It was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and completed in April 2011. It has dimensions of 150 by 70 metres and an approximate height of 26 metres and claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world. The future is here and it's in Seville 🇪🇸
Can you imagine that this whole structure is made entirely out of wood? Cool and sustainable - my kind of jam ✌️
The shape of Plaza de España is a semi-circle, surrounded by a row of buildings that today are, for the most part, used as government institutions. There are two tall towers on the flanks of the square. Of note are the 52 benches and mosaics of tiles located at the foot of the building on the Spanish square. These 52 frescos depict all 52 Spanish provinces.
The mushrooms of Metropol Parazol are not only a wooden construction that covers the square, but on top of the parasols, there is a special walkway and a terrace with beautiful panorama ("El Mirador"). Metropol Parasol also offers an archaeological museum (Antiquarium, see below), shops, several bars and restaurants. A stroll across the Metropol Parasol is certainly worthwhile during your Seville city trip.

Mushrooms of Seville
Metropol Parasol is also known as The Mushroom, the wooden structure is designed by a German architect Jurgen Mayer and completed in April 2011. Its dimensions are 150 by 70 meters, and an approximate height of 26 meters, it is 850 meters 10 minutes away from Seville Cathedral.
There is a tapas restaurant and space for events inside the central parasol. Under the parasols is an elevated, shady square to host events of different characters. At ground level is the Market, along with the commercial and catering spaces. The basement is the Antiquarium Museum, and the top level a lookout point, panoramic view covers most of the area like Hermandad del Valle and some of the restaurants. And also a place for visitors to relax, gather and etc.

🇪🇸Splendid Seville🇪🇸
We went to “Las setas" known as The Mushrooms, it is the largest wooden structure in the world. Opened in 2011, the work of German architect Jürgen Mayer is 26 metres high. The structure is made up of six large parasols in the shape of mushrooms, and it affords fantastic views of Seville from the walkway/viewing point.
The Metropol Parasol’s neutral tone was to help harmonize the stark contrast of the ultra-modern structure with the medieval surroundings of Seville. Stairways and storefronts sit below the wooden parasols, which form the largest wooden structure in the world. The innovative structure is made from bonded timber with a polyurethane coating.
The actual site was originally slated to become a parking garage, but after excavations revealed archeological findings, the city of Seville decided to make the site a museum and community center. Metropol Parasol now houses said museum, a farmers market, an elevated plaza, and a restaurant, most of which are open-air. The elevated rooftop promenades located on top of the parasols, offer visitors amazing views of the city.

Of Flamenco y Tapas
There is something about Seville..whether it's the beautiful weather, the strolls by the river, those gorgeous dinner spots, incredible tapas or the flamenco. There is something about Seville, something that adds a bit of romance to the city. One of the best stops during my Andalusia trip.
I spent 2 nights in Seville. I could have easily done more. Perhaps the more is for next time. I was excited to visit the Alcazar. You might find it familiar as it was a shooting location for Game of thrones. But the place has always been popular. The cathedral of Sevilla, the largest gothic cathedral in the world also happens to be the resting place of the great Christopher Columbus.
Next was plaza de Espania, a personal favourite and I feel it's the most beautiful in Spain. Other than that there is the park of maria Lucia just across the street, the duenas palace and then the urban structure of mushroom, las setas de Sevilla. It is beautiful and apparently the world's largest wooden structure. In terms of food, you are looking forward to the best tapas ever.

The landmark building in the heart of Seville contrasts with the surrounding medieval architecture and highlights the character of Seville, a Spanish cultural city. This futuristic building in the ancient city of Seville, with a nearly 5,000-square-meter honeycomb-like wooden roof, makes it the world's largest timber-framed building, supporting a small parasol for small town residents. During the day, people can hold various trade fairs and cultural activities under the protection of the magical "big umbrella". At night, the building will emit beautiful lights and become a gorgeous stage for the city nightlife. The city parasol has four floors, the underground is Antiquarium, exhibiting the Roman and Moorish sites found here, and the first floor is the central market.
Museo Antiquarium, antique museum: Tickets are 2 Euros, 11:1-14 and 15:00-20, and the second floor of the museum can spend 1.4 Euros along the panoramic passage to enjoy the city view.
Address: Plaza de la Encarnacin
