Introduction
Seoul Forest is located in Seongdong District, Seoul. It is the third largest park in Seoul and opened in June 2005. The park covers approximately 1,200 hectares and has more than 400,000 trees and more than 100 species of animals. The original site of Seoul Forest was a horse racing track and golf course, but now it has become an ideal place for citizens and tourists to enjoy the natural beauty.
Seoul Forest has five themed areas, including Culture and Art Park, Ecological Forest, Experiential Learning Park, Wetland Ecological Park and Han River Waterfront Park. There are various sculptures and art installations in the Cultural and Art Park, which are suitable for art lovers to visit. The ecological forest is a habitat for deer and other wild animals, and tourists can watch these animals up close. The Experiential Learning Park offers a variety of environmental education activities suitable for families and school groups. The Wetland Ecological Park displays a variety of wetland ecosystems and is a great place for bird watching enthusiasts. The Han River Waterfront Park offers beautiful riverside views and leisure facilities, making it an ideal place for walking and cycling.
The forests of Seoul in winter have a unique flavor. Snow-covered trees and grassland make the entire park picturesque. During the cold winter months, the lakes and streams in the park freeze, creating beautiful ice landscapes. Visitors can walk in the snow and enjoy the peaceful natural environment. Especially in the morning after snow, the sun shines through the branches on the snow, sparkling, making people feel the romance and beauty of winter.
