If you're in the east and craving a cozy spot to unwind, Seng House is definitely worth a visit. Nestled just minutes from Dakota MRT along the Tanjong Katong stretch, this café blends Hainanese tradition with Western cuisine in a way that truly stands out. With nearly 50 years of legacy, Seng House carries the essence of family, food, and community in every dish. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. While the interior exudes a comfy vibe, it's their alfresco dining area that really steals the show. Pet-friendly and perfect for a laid-back afternoon, it’s the kind of spot where you can relax, savor your food, and enjoy the moment. Here’s what we tried: ✨ Rustic Duck Confit Gnocchi Handmade potato gnocchi paired with tender confit duck leg, fresh asparagus, and rich duck jus — a dish that combines comfort with elegance. ✨ Traditional Italian Carbonara Homemade spaghetti tossed with guanciale, pecorino romano, and fresh egg yolk — a true Italian classic done to perfection. ✨ Fried Buttermilk Mid-Wings Crispy, deep-fried buttermilk wings made with Seng’s secret chicken flour, served alongside their family’s signature chilli sauce — a bold and flavorful appetizer. ✨ Crispy Squid Tentacles These deep-fried squid tentacles are wonderfully crispy, paired with a sweet and tangy homemade honey lime mayonnaise. ✨ Pandan Latte A delightful Singaporean twist on the classic latte, infused with fragrant pandan and smooth espresso for a unique, aromatic experience. ✨ Iced Mocha Rich, chocolatey, and a perfect balance between your favorite iced coffee and indulgent mocha. Seng House is more than just a café; it's a tribute to the Seng family’s late father, who had a passion for food and bringing people together through it. The café’s roots go deep, tracing back to the 19th century, but what stands out today is how they seamlessly bring traditional Hainanese flavors into modern café dishes, making it accessible for a new generation of diners. There’s something personal about Seng House — not just in the food, but in the way the entire experience is crafted. It's a blend of legacy and innovation, making every bite feel like a connection to the past, while still exciting the taste buds with fresh, contemporary flavors. I can't wait to return and explore the rest of the menu!

I know this looks similar, but I assure you it is not. Without a doubt, I will never duplicate posts. This I can promise. As the title suggests, Seng House @ Katong. Around last year, I did another Seng House @ Changi, although the one in Changi had been closed down. Just a quick introduction, seng house @ katong serves fushion hainanese food. As you know, I am always a fan of fushion food because it adds a new fresh touch and vitality to foods we already know while also allowing the chefs to demonstrate their ingenuity. I only had one stomach, so I got one of their best recommended dishes, Claypot Chicken Rice, which sounds very refreshing, and the most traditional food on their menu, Hainanese Pork Chop. As much as I enjoy new recipes, I am also rather conventional, as one of the rules of being creative is to never forget tradition, because tradition serves as the foundation; without it, identity would be lost. Before wrapping up to foot my bill, I had their unique tea, "Once in the Blue Moon Tea," which corresponded with my return to posting. Doesn't that feeling come once in a blue moon? Hello guys! ✨INNOVATIVE UNIQUE HAINANESE DISHES!! Love how they put a fun twist on classic hainanese dishes! Carrot cake comes with crabmeat, hor fun is served with crispy fried squid, and claypot chicken rice even comes with a shot of chicken essence! All the dishes are so refreshing and delicious! 
✨THE DRINKS ARE REALLY GOOD! My favorites are the black tiramisu coffee and the secret cold brew. I’ve never tasted anything quite like their black tiramisu coffee! the foam on top has a slightly salty and savory flavor but it pairs so well with the coffee base! they also serves cocktail here and its quite nice too
✨ GREAT AMBIENCE! i love the decor of the cafe, it has a really relaxing vibes 🍃 the outdoor seating area was decorated with fairy lights!!💫

#singapore lovely cafe with friendly staffs. love the ambience of the cafe! ordered the claypot chicken rice, mac and cheese, pancakes and donut kiap. food was served pretty quickly on a sunday brunch timing. pancakes and donut kiap were exceptionally good. pancakes were crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. the yam ice cream was very fragrant. overall a great place to dine at!
