🏞️ Mount Yu is located in the center of Fuzhou city. It is said that during the Warring States period, an ancient clan named 'Yu Yue' lived here, hence the name Mount Yu. ✔️ At the foot of the mountain, there is a temple called Dingguang Temple, where you can see the white pagoda from afar, hidden behind the Fayu Hall. Its full name is 'Bao'en Dingguang Precious Pagoda'. From a distance, it looks completely white, and one might think it is made of stone, but upon closer inspection, you realize it is a traditional brick and wood structure. The pagoda is 41 meters tall, with its exterior coated in lime, which is why it is commonly known as the white pagoda. It was originally built in the second year of Tang Tianyou (905), destroyed by lightning in the thirteenth year of Ming Jiajing (1534), and rebuilt in the twenty-seventh year (1548). ✔️ Mount Yu is not very tall, and by following the winding mountain road, you will quickly reach the Dashidian at the summit. This place was also the former headquarters of the Fuzhou front command during the Xinhai Revolution. Relying on this history, the Fuzhou Xinhai Revolution Memorial Hall was built here. ✔️ In front of the Dashidian, there is a huge rock with four red characters carved on it: 'Moon Bright, Wind Clear'. These words were inscribed by Li Ba, the then prefect of Fuzhou, in the twenty-sixth year of Qianlong (1761), and they are easy to pronounce whether read forwards or backwards. Next to it, there is an ancient banyan tree, ranked seventh in the selection of famous banyan trees in Fuzhou. ✔️ The highest peak of Mount Yu is called Aoding Peak, also known as Zhuangyuan Peak, with an altitude of 58.6 meters. The mountain is rugged with strange rocks, and originally had six 'Ao' (giant turtle) landmarks, which gradually disappeared over time. A new pavilion called Lan'ao Pavilion has been built on the mountaintop. ✔️ At the highest point, there is a white modern building called Jiuri Tai Music Hall, and the small square in front of it is Jiuri Tai. According to historical records, Wuzhu, the king of Minyue during the early Han dynasty, climbed here during the Double Ninth Festival to drink chrysanthemum wine, sing, dance, and enjoy the scenery, hence Mount Yu is also known as Jiuri Mountain. There is even a relic of Jiuri Zun at one corner of Jiuri Tai, where it is said that the king of Yue carved a stone vessel that could hold three dou of wine. ✔️ Hidden deep in the mountainside is a Taoist temple called Jiuxian Guan. Jiuxian Guan was the place where the He brothers cultivated immortality in the past, and thus Mount Yu also has the beautiful name of Jiuxian Mountain. Jiuxian Guan was once in disrepair due to age and had fallen into ruin, but now the incense is burning again. ✔️ In the mountain, there is a pavilion called Hanbi Pavilion, from where you can overlook the beautiful scenery of Fuzhou city. The stairs next to it lead directly to the foot of the mountain, where you can reach the hidden ancient Lian Temple. ♥On the last day of the Spring Festival holiday, I went to the Orchid Garden in Yushan Park, Fuzhou to watch the 19th Orchid Show. ♥As soon as I entered the exhibition area, the mist had been sprayed for a long time. The mist rose and filled between the bright and fragrant orchids, the uniquely shaped rockeries, and the lush green plants, giving a fairy-like feeling, making people think they were in a fairyland. ♥Nearly a hundred varieties and thousands of pots of orchids are gathered in the exhibition area, including Cattleya, Pouch Orchid, Purple Fragrant Orchid, Jianlan... It's a feast for the eyes. ♥The Orchid Show will last until February 24th.
