[Okayama] Beautiful Shurakuen Garden
Shurakuen (the garden of the former villa of the Tsuyama Domain) is a beautiful garden in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture.
Even I, who am not particularly interested in gardens, was enchanted by its beauty.
The majority of the garden is taken up by a pond, and you can enjoy seasonal scenery such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
In September 2002, the "Garden of the former villa of the Tsuyama Domain (Shurakuen)" was designated a national place of scenic beauty.
The Forest Art Festival, Sunny Country Okayama, is also being held until November 24th, and artworks are also on display.
Admission to the artworks in Shurakuen is free, so be sure to check it out.

Chasing Plum Blossoms at Tsuyama City
#cherryblossom25 A tunnel of flowers - "Tsuyama City Kojiro Ume no Sato Park"
The highlight is approximately 2,000 plum blossoms in full bloom from late February to early March each year. The park also has well-developed walking paths that treat visitors a beautiful view of flowers in full bloom, a sight that looks like a tunnel of flowers. The observatory at the summit of the mountain offers visitors a panoramic view of the mountains in the distance. It's the best photo shooting spot.

Less people travel to Okayama Prefecture in central Japan🧳
Most people visit Okayama City to the small island of the Seto Inland Sea or the tourist attraction Kurashiki
But few people stay in Okayama Prefecture and slowly tour
To let more people know Okayama 🌲🌳🌴
Local artists curate the Forest Art Festival Sunny Country Okayama” (森の芸术祭晴れの国・Okayama)🎨🩰🎭
Taking the “forest” as an entry point, it symbolizes the combination of nature and humanity of course
This time I visited Okayama Prefecture🌲 because of this interesting forest art festival
The artists work all over the north of Okayama Prefecture
It gave me the opportunity to get to know Tsuyama, a city north of Okayama
Visited Tsuyama Castle, Tsuyama City, the natural wonders of Ikura-dong and Manki Cave🏞️
It turns out that Okayama has many interesting tourist spots📸
Finally came to Jingkura-dong
I met a small homemade cafe
You can enjoy coffee while looking at the waterfall☕️
It's really nice 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

[Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture] Cherry Blossom Festival at Kakuyama Park 🌸
#FuriTabiWinter
This is Tsuruyama Park in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture! It is affectionately known as Oshiroyama by the locals 🙌
When you think of Oshiroyama, you think of cherry blossoms, and when you think of cherry blossoms, you think of Oshiroyama! 🌸
Every year during cherry blossom season, food stalls and other events are set up!
The park is large, so many people bring picnic sheets and eat bento boxes or food purchased from the stalls!
In this area, this is the place to go for cherry blossom viewing with the family!
Not only can you enjoy the cherry blossoms, but you can also see the castle town of Tsuyama from the top, and the view is also great! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by 🙆♀️

This is a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant, but I went in for the Tsuyama specialty, horumon udon! The horumon was plump and mixed with the delicious sauce, and it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating rice!
The restaurant only has counter seats, and they grill it on a hot plate in front of you, so your appetite is whet even before you eat!
It's a popular restaurant, so you will have to line up, but there are only 12 parking spaces, so it may get crowded! If you're going, I recommend going early or late!
Please go and check it out!!

PORT ART&DESIGN TSUYAMA in Okayama.
An art gallery utilizing a building that was originally a bank.
The former Senoo Bank Hayashida Branch is a designated important cultural property of Okayama Prefecture.
When you visit, it's hard to believe this place was once a bank due to its stylishness and beauty.
The main highlight is said to be the single-board counter.
The architecture is a mix of Japanese and Western styles, with a wooden main building, a stone vault, and a courtyard with red brick tiles, among other attractions.
They regularly hold special exhibitions, workshops, and art events, and the Forest Art Festival Hareru no Kuni Okayama is currently being held until November 24th.
[Tsuyama City] Stay at Hotel Route Inn Tsuyama Ekimae
Hotel Route Inn is located a 2-minute walk from Tsuyama Station in Okayama Prefecture.
This hotel opened in 2020 and is relatively new and clean.
This hotel also has a large public bath with natural hot springs.
I stayed in a twin room, which was spacious with a sofa. There is a bathtub in the room, but the large public bath is still recommended.
It seems that there is an open-air bath, sauna, and cold bath for men only.
It's a bit disappointing that there is a huge difference between men and women, but I was satisfied with the clean hotel.
Another attraction is the free breakfast.

Tsuyama Castle was once one of the grandest castles in Japan, though only its foundations and some stone walls remain today. The area has been converted into Kakuzan Park, a lovely spot known for its cherry blossoms in spring. It offers stunning views over the city and mountains.
Tips:
• Best Time to Visit: Spring for cherry blossoms or autumn for the fall foliage.
• What to Bring: A picnic to enjoy under the sakura trees during spring.
• Don’t Miss: Explore the castle’s stone walls and imagine its historical grandeur.

🕰️Business hours 11:00-15:00
A restaurant located on a mountain road in Okayama Prefecture that is only open for lunch.
The gohei mochi and amago grilled over the hearth are not only delicious, but also have a great atmosphere!
The rural scenery seen from the large windows is also wonderful
Everything that was served, including the homemade tofu dishes, amago sashimi, grated yam rice, and miso soup, was delicious.
The staff were very kind and it became a restaurant I would like to visit again.
Mochi Donuts
When Mister Donut first open in Singapore, there was a crazy queue of more than 3h but now at this branch, I can get a donut for less than 5 mins of queue! Finally got my hands on pon de ring and it was mochi chewy and delicious. However, it is really not worth queuing for hours in my opinion even though it is a good piece of donut. I would like to try the custard donuts the next time!! #familytrips2024

Okayama is the hometown of Momotaro
🐕Okayama Prefecture is famous for its rural scenery, where Kurashiki and picturesque canals are located. It is also convenient to go to Naoshima and Shodoshima from Okayama.
.
🐒Okayama Prefecture is also known as the 'Hometown of Momotaro'. Momotaro is a child who popped out of a peach core. With the help of monkeys, pheasants, and puppies, he defeated the man-eating monsters. There is a statue of Momotaro in the square of Okayama Railway Station (Figure 3️⃣), and the most popular souvenir in Okayama is also Momotaro's favorite dessert—millet dumplings🍡
.
🐓The must-see attractions in Okayama Prefecture include:
🍑Korakuen: One of the three major gardens in Japan.
🍑Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter: The capital of Japanese cultural heritage. It takes 15 minutes to get there from Okayama Station by JR Sanyo Main Line or Hakubi Line.
🍑Okayama Castle: Located on the opposite side of Korakuen, it is a five-story six-layer building and one of the oldest castles in Japan.
