Royale Chulan is a 4-star culturally rich, heritage hotel conveniently located at the heart of UNESCO Heritage Site in George Town, Penang. It is located at the Weld Quay area, just minutes away from major historic sites and leisure establishments along Penang's Heritage Trail. Royale Chulan offers a charming fusion of history through its colonial architecture and style especially with its beautifully restored heritage building which is around 130 years old.
For my stay here, I booked their Deluxe Room. Amenities include :

- Take a walk through their Boustead Heritage Tunnel to learn a bit about the group as well as the hotel. Also a great place to take selfies too.
- Take time to appreciate the Peranakan culture infused in their architecture
- Enjoy an invigorating swim at their outdoor salt water swimming pool and jacuzzi at Level 2
- Enjoy breathtaking views of the sea/ harbour from your hotel window
- Work it out at their fully equipped gym
- Have a cocktail at the Heritage Lounge
During your stay, you can also :
- Head to Gurney Plaza / Gurney Paragon for some shopping, catch a movie as well as a historial walkabout of old Penang
- Visit the heritage Kek Lok Si Buddhist Temple and Wat Chayamangkalaram Thai Buddhist Temple with one of the largest Reclining Buddha statues in the world.
- Go for a relaxing massage at any of the local salons along the main street
- Grab local hawker fare at the nearby food court or various night markets(Penang Road, Macallum Street etc). Must try includes : char kway teow with quail egg, Penang famous cendol, chee cheong fun with spicy chilli/prawn paste sauce, assam laksa, Penang style lor mee/ prawn mee, Gurney Drive rojak. muar chee etc .... the list simply goes on !
- Enjoy Mao Shan Wang durian at various pop up stalls in Penang
- Take a cultural walk through the famous Penang Street Art hotspots
- Head on to any Hin Heang for Penang's famous Tambun and Chestnut biscuits.
